Zuora, a monetization platform for businesses, has launched Supervised Mode, which allows Zuora AI to propose actions that modify Zuora data while a human reviews and approves each change before it runs.
The Redwood City, CA-based company says Supervised Mode takes Zuora AI “from assistant to trusted team member.”
In a document about Supervised Mode, Zuora says:
When Zuora AI determines that an action would change data, it presents the proposed action for your review. The action runs only after you approve it. You can decline any proposed action. This per-action approval applies to writes performed through the Zuora AI product experience. Writes performed through Zuora MCP are governed by the approval behavior of the connected third-party AI tool.
Read and analysis behavior is unchanged. Zuora AI can still answer questions and explore data as it does in Read-Only mode.
Supervised mode applies wherever you interact with Zuora AI, including the Side Panel and Full Screen experiences.
Supervised mode remains read and write mode for Zuora MCP. This is because the MCP clients cannot enforce supervised conversations or human-in-the-loop approvals in third-party interfaces the way Zuora AI can in Zuora product experiences.
Zuora records every approved action in the Zuora Audit Trail under the account of the user who approved it. The audit entry is attributed to the approving user, just as if the user made the change directly in Zuora.
Supervised mode does not bypass existing permissions or Controls. You cannot perform any write action that your Zuora role does not allow, and Zuora AI does not perform actions that Zuora AI Controls block.

“Now with Supervised Mode, AI can complete real quote-to-cash work, from write-offs to revenue releases and batch subscription changes, while a person still signs off on every one,” Shealyn Nosal, senior product marketing manager at Zuora, wrote in a Sept. 22 blog post. “We’re continuing to supercharge finance productivity with an operator that can actually complete tasks for you, governed the way finance already operates.”
She added, “AI only earns a place in finance if it can answer three questions every time: what it did, why it did it, and who signed off. That’s the standard Zuora AI is built to meet. Every action runs through Supervised Mode, so a person reviews and approves before anything posts. Larger changes route automatically to a second reviewer through Approval Controls, and admins can set granular permissions by action and by role. The AI Audit Trail ties every result back to the conversation that produced it, and Watch Tower gives admins a single view of that activity across the org. Zuora MCP carries the same permissions and guardrails into the tools your team already uses, like Claude, Cursor, and Codex, so a read-only tenant stays read-only no matter where the request comes from. For finance teams, that level of governance is the reason AI can move from answering questions to taking action.”

Zuora Unveils New Agents and Skills for Zuora AI
Since its last update, Zuora AI has added more than 20 new supervised actions, including 16 for its Revenue Analyst Agent.
Zuora AI now features a curated library of more than 150 prompts across 16 categories, organized by product area and by the page a person is already on, so one click takes the user from a blank chat box to useful work, Nosal says.
