Wiggam Law Expands Tax Resolution Team with Addition of Former IRS Veteran Betty Carter
Wiggam Law, an Atlanta-based law firm, recently announced the addition of Betty Carter as a tax resolution professional. Carter brings more than 40 years of experience with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), where she developed extensive knowledge of collection alternatives, enforcement actions, and complex tax matters.
During her distinguished career at the IRS, Carter began in taxpayer service before moving into field collection as a revenue officer. She worked in general programs and offer-in-compromise units before joining a specialty group focused on abusive tax avoidance transactions. Drawing on this deep background, Carter will represent individuals and businesses in tax controversies, helping clients navigate liens, levies, property seizures and other collection actions.

A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Carter earned her bachelor’s degree in criminal psychology from the University of Memphis and an MBA from Brenau University. She also completed numerous accounting courses at Georgia State University.
Outside of her work, Carter enjoys walking, gardening and spending time at the lake with her husband and daughter. An avid animal lover, she cares for four cats and a black lab. She also cheers for college football, especially the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
South Street Securities Holdings Appoints Jason Schuit as President of South Street Securities LLC and Donald Webbe as President of Matrix Applications LLC
South Street Securities Holdings, Inc. recently announced the appointment of Jason Schuit as President of South Street Securities LLC (“South Street Securities”) and Donald Webbe as President of Matrix Applications LLC (“Matrix Applications”), effective immediately. Mr. Schuit and Mr. Webbe have been members of the team since its inception and individually bring more than three decades of experience in finance and capital markets to their roles.
About Jason Schuit
Jason Schuit is a seasoned industry veteran with a career spanning over three decades in finance and capital markets. In 1999, Mr. Schuit co-founded Capital Markets Engineering & Trading, and then in 2004, South Street Securities, where he led the formation, infrastructure development and trading of the broker-dealer. As President of South Street Securities, Mr. Schuit oversees the company’s various trading and execution businesses, driving growth and innovation as one of the premier mid-sized full-service broker-dealers. His previous role at the company was Co-Chief Investment Officer. In 2018, Mr. Schuit was pivotal in the relaunch and recapitalization of AmeriVet Securities, Inc. (“AmeriVet Securities”), a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned (SDVO) broker-dealer, and serves as the Lead Director of the Board of Directors.
Mr. Schuit’s career began at Citibank’s Management Associate Training Program in 1992, where he developed expertise in fixed income trading. He later joined Citicorp Securities’ Finance Desk in 1995 as Vice President and Senior Matched Book Trader, responsible for finance, futures and arbitrage trading within the Capital Markets Group. In 2006, Mr. Schuit joined Cantor Fitzgerald as Managing Director of Finance, where he co-managed the Repo Finance Desk before rejoining South Street Securities in 2011.
Mr. Schuit holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Public Accounting from Hofstra University and is registered with FINRA Series 3, 7, 24 and 63.
As President, Mr. Schuit will oversee the company’s various trading and execution businesses, continuing to drive growth and innovation as a trusted, mid-sized full-service broker-dealer. He previously served as Co-Chief Investment Officer of South Street Securities.
About Donald Webbe
Mr. Webbe joined South Street Securities Holdings in June 2001 as the Head of Operations. He is currently President of Matrix Applications and oversees the technology infrastructure, system support, operations and software development. Mr. Webbe is also the Chief Operating Officer of South Street Securities, responsible for the company’s Operations and Technology departments. In addition, Mr. Webbe serves as a Board Member of AmeriVet Securities.
Prior to joining South Street Securities Holdings, Mr. Webbe worked at Citigroup from 1986 until 2001. As a Vice President at Citigroup, he was responsible for a range of middle and back-office functions. His role included oversight of finance, funding, futures and emerging markets operations for both domestic and international settlement. He was integral to several highly sophisticated securitization projects and had extensive interaction with foreign exchange and derivatives operations.
Mr. Webbe is FINRA Series 7, 27 and 63 registered.
As President, Mr. Webbe will oversee the company’s technology infrastructure, system support, operations, and software development. He previously served as Chief Operating Officer of Matrix Applications.

LBMC Names Kim Pace Director in Transaction Advisory Services Practice
Chattanooga, TN (Sept. 22, 2025) – LBMC, one of the Southeast’s largest accounting and business consulting firms and a nationally recognized top 40 firm, is pleased to announce that Kim Pace has been named Director, Transaction Advisory Services based in the firm’s growing LBMC Chattanooga office.

Nikki Burgeson Joins UHY as Head of Business Development

Kantata Names Technology Leader Jesse Weber to Vice President of Partner Alliances

Walt Brasch Joins Weaver as Commercial Audit Partner

With an extensive background in client service and executive leadership, Walt spent nearly five years as the public company practice leader for an international advisory and accounting practice where he also served as the managing partner of their Los Angeles office. His career also includes nearly two decades in the Big Four where he served as a managing director in an audit and assurance services group and held leadership responsibilities for the firm’s west region restaurant and food service audit practice. During this tenure, Walt gained multinational experience, highlighted by a two-year secondment in Paris.

Jessica McClain Named CFO of American Staffing Association
The American Staffing Association recently announced that it had named Jessica McClain CFO. The American Staffing Association is a 501 (c)(6) trade group that represents the interests of the American staffing, recruiting, and workforce solutions industry.
McClain was previously CFO of The Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital for nearly four years, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit and the Washington D.C. division of Girl Scouts of the USA. Prior to working there, McClain held various roles at Williams, Adley, and Company, Grant Thornton, IBM, and KPMG.
Executive Director William Treacy Celebrates 35 Years with TSBPA
William Treacy recently celebrated 35 years of service as the executive director of the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy (TSBPA). As the TSBPA executive director, William Treacy is responsible for the operation of the agency in accordance with Board policy, state and federal law, and duties established by the Board. TSBPA Presiding Officer Jeannette Smith, CPA presented a 35-year service award to Mr. Treacy at the September 18, 2025, Board meeting. Mr. Treacy currently serves on the U.S. International Qualifications Appraisal Board, which he chaired for seven years, and was also a member of NASBA’s Committee on International Delivery of the CPA Exam and the NASBA Global Strategies Committee.
He previously served on the NASBA National Steering Committee; the AICPA/NASBA Uniform CPA Examination Task Force; the Computerization Implementation Committee; the Alternative Practice Structures Task Force; the Uniform Accountancy Act Education and Implementation Committee; the International Reciprocity Committee; the State Board Administrators’ Committee (including two years as chairman); the Acceleration of Changes in the CPA Exam; the Future Licensing, Litigation, Legislation Task Force; the Ethics Committee; and the Operation LEAD Task Force.
Mr. Treacy is an honorary member of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and the recipient of the 2009 Lorraine P. Sachs Standard of Excellence Award. He grew up in Cork, Ireland, with five brothers and five sisters and is a United States Army Veteran. In his spare time, Mr. Treacy enjoys singing in the choir, walking, reading, and watching college football.
