Top 30 accounting firm UHY has joined forces with Whalen CPAs, an accounting and advisory firm that has served businesses and individuals throughout Central Ohio since 1945.
Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
Farmington Hills, MI-based UHY has had a busy 2026 making deals. The addition of Whalen is its eighth this year. UHY has also added Adamson & Co., Michigan CFO Associates, RBT CPAs, Larson Tax Partners, CMJ LLP, Manley Garvin, and Anderson, Lower, Whitlow PC.
UHY received private equity backing from Boston-based investment firm Summit Partners in late 2024.

UHY Receives Private Equity Funding From Summit Partners
UHY says this latest combination strengthens its presence in Ohio, and the firm noted that it will continue to invest in the state and expand its reach across the region. UHY established an office in Cincinnati last year after combining with Flynn & Co.
The combination will provide Whalen clients with access to an expanded national platform, industry specialists, and broad range of advisory capabilities, UHY says, adding that its national wealth management practice will help meet the needs of family-owned businesses, entrepreneurs, and high-net-worth individuals across the region.
