AICPA Holds Accounting Scholars Leadership Workshop to Empower Future Leaders

The 2025 Accounting Scholars Leadership Workshop, an immersive experience designed to inspire and equip the next generation of accounting and finance professionals, will take place Oct. 15-17, 2025, at the OKANA Resort in Oklahoma City, OK.

The American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) is holding the 2025 Accounting Scholars Leadership Workshop (ASLW), an immersive experience designed to inspire and equip the next generation of accounting and finance professionals. The event will take place October 15-17, 2025, at the OKANA Resort in Oklahoma City, OK.

Sponsored by the AICPA Foundation and many other organizations with passion for supporting our future talent, ASLW brings together high-achieving undergraduate and graduate students from across the country for three days of leadership development, career exploration, and mentorship. The workshop runs concurrently with the Accounting Pipeline Diversity Symposium (APDS), offering attendees unique access to students who are looking for inspiration and guidance, as well as to expert leaders. Sessions will offer CPE-eligible education focused on fostering inclusive environments that center diverse experiences and perspectives, while promoting mentorship to support thriving careers and personal growth.

Established over 20 years ago, the ASLW was designed to illuminate wide-ranging career paths within the accounting and finance industry for aspiring students. Beyond raising awareness, the workshop equips participants with essential skills to thrive, evolve, and lead as they transition into professional roles. By fostering meaningful connections between seasoned professionals and students from all walks of life, ASLW also plays a vital role of inspiring the next generation of accounting and finance professionals and expanding the pipeline of talent for the profession.

“One of the most unexpected but valuable aspects of this event was the sense of community among the participants,” said past ASLW participant Mary Whiting, a graduate student at California State University, San Bernadino. “It was encouraging to meet others who are passionate about accounting and to hear about their diverse backgrounds and experiences.
