Top 50 accounting firm Sorren announced Tuesday the launch of its Digital Advisory practice to help clients make better technology decisions, modernize business systems, and turn technology investments into measurable business outcomes.
The new practice advises organizations on navigating growth, outdated systems, disconnected data, inefficient processes, and major business transitions by combining business-process understanding, industry specialization, technology strategy, and implementation expertise, Sorren says.
Initially focused on construction, healthcare, manufacturing, and distribution, Digital Advisory helps clients align technology decisions with broader operational and business objectives. - ERP and connected-system implementations;
- Business process automation and applied AI; and
- Project management and optimization.

Leading the new practice is Chad Back, who joins Sorren as managing partner of Digital Advisory. With more than three decades of operational and technology leadership experience, he has helped organizations navigate technology strategy, ERP and CRM transformations, implementations, and technology optimizations, partnering with business leaders to align technology decisions with operational needs and long-term business objectives.

Back came to Sorren after spending several years at accounting firm Forvis Mazars (formerly Forvis and BKD), according to his LinkedIn profile.
“Technology decisions are ultimately business decisions,” Back said in a statement on Oct. 27. “Our role is to help clients start with the business problem, make informed technology decisions, and then carry those decisions through implementation and ongoing improvement.”
“The launch of Digital Advisory expands our firm’s ability to address the increasingly interconnected business and technology needs of our clients,” Sorren CEO Josh Tyree added in a statement. “Technology is now part of nearly every major business decision our clients make. Digital Advisory brings technology expertise into the broader business conversation, giving clients practical guidance that considers where their organization is today and where they want it to go.”
