CDP, Inc., a provider of construction accounting and project management software solutions, has joined Sorren, a Top 50 U.S. accounting and advisory firm. The combination strengthens Sorren’s Digital Advisory practice and expands technology and advisory resources for construction companies and other project-driven organizations.

Together, CDP’s expertise in construction ERP systems, project management software, implementation and integration and Sorren’s accounting, tax and digital advisory capabilities will help clients better connect project field operations with back-office financial controls.

Since 1981, CDP has helped project-centric organizations manage complex business and technology needs through software solutions, implementation, integration, consulting, and training. With deep expertise in construction, CDP also serves engineering, energy, pharmaceutical, public sector, industrial manufacturing, IT and telecommunications, and aerospace and defense industries.

As construction companies increasingly adopt digital tools, connecting project management, financial systems and day-to-day operations remains a challenge. Issues involving job costing, scheduling, budgeting, and project visibility can make it difficult to manage complex projects and make timely decisions. CDP addresses these needs through integrated solutions tailored to each client’s requirements, connecting data, knowledge and expertise across departments, systems and locations, from finance and operations to the field.

“The biggest technology challenges rarely come down to software alone,” said Paul Riefenberg, President of CDP, Inc. “That’s especially true in construction, where project management, scheduling, job costing, and financial operations all need to work together. Joining Sorren allows us to bring that experience to an organization that shares our commitment to helping clients solve complex business challenges.”

For CDP clients, joining Sorren means continued access to the professionals they know and trust, supported by additional accounting, tax and advisory resources. Construction clients will also gain access to industry-specific tax and audit expertise, helping address the challenges of working with CPAs and advisors who may not fully understand the complexities of the construction industry. The combination also creates opportunities to better connect project management and financial operations for construction companies while expanding technology and business advisory support across other industries.

“Construction companies are managing increasingly complex projects, and having the right technology and financial expertise working together is becoming more important,” said George Lambert, National Construction and Real Estate Sector Leader at Sorren. “CDP brings specialized industry knowledge and decades of experience that strengthen how we serve our contractors, while creating opportunities to bring that same expertise to clients across other industries.”

CDP’s technology solutions and professional services include project management, construction job costing, estimating, budgeting, scheduling, application integration, implementation support, reporting, consulting, and training.

“Construction is one of Sorren’s largest industries, and our clients are increasingly looking for help connecting technology, operations, and financial performance,” said Chad Back, Managing Partner of Digital Advisory at Sorren. “CDP brings deep expertise in project management technology, implementation, integration and training that complement our accounting, tax and advisory services. Together, we are better positioned to help clients align technology, operations and financial performance while continuing to deliver the personalized service both organizations are known for.”

Capstone Partners served as financial advisor to CDP in connection with the transaction.
