Legora, an agentic operating system for legal professionals, announced a partnership with Blue J, bringing Blue J’s AI-powered tax research into Legora.
Eligible customers can query Blue J directly in Legora and receive answers with inline citations linking back to sources in Blue J.
Blue J is built specifically for tax research and is used by more than 6,000 organizations globally.

“Tax questions come up in every kind of matter, and the people answering them shouldn’t have to leave their work to develop a defensible answer,” Benjamin Alarie, CEO and co-founder of Blue J, said in a statement on Oct. 19. “Bringing Blue J into Legora means tax professionals can get cited analysis where they already work, check the source materials themselves, and keep their judgment at the center of their advice.”
The integration is built on the Model Context Protocol to connect Blue J’s tax research to the Legora aOS.

Blue J performs the research on its own infrastructure. Users need subscriptions to both products and must sign in with their own accounts. Each answer includes inline citations linking to the underlying Blue J sources, subject to applicable content permissions. These citations allow lawyers to verify the reasoning before using it in advice or client deliverables.
“Legora’s legal research is built to support the tax questions our customers face every day,” Bryan Tsao, chief product officer at Legora, said in a statement. “Blue J adds specialist depth through additional secondary sources lawyers can check, right in the work they’re already doing.”
The integration will open first to selected eligible joint customers through early access, with general availability planned for November.
