Frazier & Deeter Snaps Up Machen McChesney, FocusPay Solutions in Alabama

Top 50 accounting firm Frazier & Deeter has acquired accounting and business advisory firm Machen McChesney and its sister company, FocusPay Solutions, both headquartered in Auburn, AL.

Top 50 accounting firm Frazier & Deeter has acquired accounting and business advisory firm Machen McChesney and its sister company, FocusPay Solutions, both headquartered in Auburn, AL.

Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

These are Atlanta-based Frazier & Deeter’s third and fourth M&A deals in 2026. In May, the firm added Copeland Buhl, an accounting and advisory firm in the Minneapolis area, marking its first expansion into the Midwest. Then early last month, the firm acquired INSIDE Public Accounting top 200 firm Gray, Gray & Gray.

Frazier & Deeter made three acquisitions last year after securing a private equity investment from General Atlantic in April 2025.

Founded in 1954, Machen McChesney provides accounting, audit and assurance, business tax and advisory, business valuation, family and elder care, individual tax planning and consulting, and outsourced client accounting services to individual and business clients throughout Alabama and the U.S.

Established in 1982, FocusPay Solutions provides payroll, benefits, administration, and human resources services to businesses throughout Alabama and the surrounding region.

“Outsourced accounting is a service that a lot of our clients are seeking, and this combination rounds out our capabilities to now include a full suite of back-office support, including payroll,” Frazier & Deeter CEO Jeremy Jones said in a statement on Sept. 28. “Pairing our comprehensive service offerings with a firm deeply embedded in the community means we can offer an even higher level of hands-on service, backed by the depth and resources to support every stage of growth for our clients.”
