June 11 — A 64-year-old bookkeeper who embezzled half a million dollars from Lewiston’s Travelland RV will be serving time in jail.

Di Ann R. Geagley, of Lewiston, ID, was sentenced on Wednesday for felony grand theft, which she pleaded guilty to in March as part of a deal that would allow her to avoid prison time.

Nez Perce County Judge Mark Monson accepted most terms outlined in Geagley’s plea agreement, which orders her to serve seven years of probation and pay $233,522 in restitution to the RV dealer. Monson was unwilling to approve the agreement unless jail time was a term or condition of probation.

“I don’t think I can look another person in the face where the state could be recommending some sort of jail time for a minor offense,” Monson said. “Where the state is telling me today $233,000, and we’re not asking for any.”

Geagley’s defense attorney Richard Cuddihy argued that the deal was mediated by all parties, including the victims, who agreed to no jail time in the withheld judgment.

Monson cited two federal cases where defendants had stolen similar amounts and received five years in one case, and almost two years in the other. Monson said he had sentenced an individual to 30 days of jail time for stealing just over $100,000 a few years ago.

The court ultimately ordered that Geagley serve 45 days in jail, in addition to 30 days of discretionary jail time as part of the agreement.

Court documents indicate, between 2021 and 2025, Geagley stole over $554,000 while employed by Travelland RV through an unauthorized salary bump, cutting extra paychecks, taking cash and misusing company bank accounts.

The majority of the amount was approximately $233,000 in unauthorized charges to company credit cards that went to online casinos, court documents say. Geagley told investigators that “Google Pay” had mistakenly charged the business’s accounts in her online wallet.

Nez Perce County Prosecutor Justin Coleman told the Lewiston Tribune that $233,522 in restitution was reached in a mediated agreement between the defendant and the victims, and was what could likely be proven in the event of a trial.

The victim stated the amount was only one part of the story, indicating the business took on secondary losses like audit and legal costs, sales tax penalties and late payment fees.

Geagley testified she was deeply sorry for her weakness and gambling addiction she developed.

“I did indeed do this,” she said. “I intend to work my absolute hardest at making sure (Travelland RV) gets this restitution as quickly as possible.”
