Hulk Hogan’s former accountant is now facing federal charges for stealing more than $890,000 from an unidentified person in Florida.
While Hogan was not named as the victim, officials said the case involved a “public figure.”
Melissia Gauthreaux has been charged with six counts of wire fraud, according to a press release from U.S. Attorney Greg Kehoe for the Middle District of Florida.
If convicted, she faces up to 20 years per count.
Gauthreaux was the founder, president and managing member of Accounting Resources and Management Services LLC., which was based in Palm Harbor.
According to an indictment, she used her business to embezzle hundreds of thousands of dollars from a client between 2017 and 2021.
Gauthreaux was employed by Hogan during that time frame, sources told TMZ. She’s accused of using her signatory authority—which allowed her to sign documents on behalf of the alleged victim—to move money from her client’s bank account without their permission of knowledge.
