Eide Bailly has acquired Solana Beach, CA-based Hamilton Tharp—the third M&A deal the top 20 accounting firm has made in the past week.
Financial terms of the deal, which is expected to go into effect on May 12, weren’t disclosed. Four partners and 14 staff will join Eide Bailly as part of this transition. Hamilton Tharp’s Solana Beach team will continue serving clients from their existing office location, according to a media release.

Eide Bailly said the addition of Hamilton Tharp strengthens its presence in Southern California and establishes its first office in Solana Beach.

“Bringing Hamilton Tharp into Eide Bailly is an exciting step forward in our continued growth,” Jeremy Hauk, managing partner and CEO of Eide Bailly, said in a statement. “Their strong client relationships, deep technical expertise, and commitment to personalized service align seamlessly with our values. We’re proud to join forces with a team that shares our passion for helping clients thrive.”
Founded in 1980, Hamilton Tharp is known for services spanning tax planning, trust and estate consulting, family office solutions, and accounting. The firm has built a strong reputation in the San Diego area, particularly among leaders in biotech, real estate, and health care.
Tina Tharp, managing partner at Hamilton Tharp, said the decision to join Eide Bailly was guided by a desire to expand services for clients and create greater growth opportunities for staff—all while staying true to their culture.
“We were intentional about finding the right fit,” Tharp said. “Eide Bailly brings the scale and expertise we were looking for, but just as importantly, they share our values and people-first approach.”
This acquisition continues Eide Bailly’s recent run of M&A deals. The top 20 firm announced last Monday it’s adding CPA firm Volpe Brown & Co., then last Thursday, the firm announced it was adding Salesforce consulting business Roycon. Eide Bailly also recently announced a strategic partnership with PacketWatch, a provider of packet-level network analysis for cybersecurity, that expands their mutual clients’ access to cybersecurity and compliance services.
