DFIN has released its new EDGAR Next Enrollment Portal, designed to streamline the transition to the SEC’s new EDGAR Next filing framework and reduce client administrative burden. Through this new intuitive portal, DFIN clients can quickly meet the new authentication requirements for all filing types, including public company filings, investment company filings, and beneficial owner reporting.

DFIN is a provider of software and tech-enabled solutions for financial reporting and capital markets transactions. The DFIN EDGAR Next Enrollment Portal goes live on March 24, 2025, the opening date of the SEC enrollment window.

In September 2024, the SEC announced its final EDGAR Next rule. The SEC’s goal with this change is to enhance security, transparency, and accountability in EDGAR filings by introducing new login credentials, account management, and authorization requirements.

“DFIN has been actively involved throughout the SEC’s EDGAR Next rulemaking process, providing recommendations to ensure a smooth transition with minimal disruption for filers,” said Floyd Strimling, Chief Product Officer at DFIN. “To help clients navigate the complexities of the new requirements, we developed the DFIN EDGAR Next Enrollment Portal — an intuitive, step-by-step solution that simplifies setup and allows filers to designate DFIN as a trusted partner under the new system.”

Benefits of the new DFIN EDGAR Next Portal include:

  • Step-by-Step Guidance – Simplifies both the enrollment process and required post-enrollment tasks.
  • Effortless Transition – Ensures a smooth shift to the new SEC rules without interrupting compliance.
  • Avoids Workflow Disruption – Clients continue to file through DFIN without changes to existing workflows.
  • Ensuring Success – Early client feedback confirms the portal removes complexity and streamlines the EDGAR Next transition.

DFIN will be hosting a webinar on March 20, 2025, where our SEC experts will provide additional guidance on how to enroll with DFIN.
