President Joe Biden has plenty on his plate to deal with these days, including the conflict in the Ukraine, rising inflation and the ongoing pandemic, just to mention a few things. You can add another concern to the list: The federal grand jury probe into his son Hunter Biden’s tax and financial affairs.

Earlier in February, former Biden girlfriends Zoe Kestan and Lunden Roberts were interviewed by the grand jury.

The investigation, first announced in December, 2020, is continuing with the IRS Criminal Investigation department and the FBI spearheading the efforts. President Biden’s son, a high-profile business associate and lobbyist in the past, has multiple international entanglements that have come under examination. Former president Trump often targeted these connections during the 2020 presidential campaign.

The investigation hasn’t implicated President Biden in any way although he has reportedly advised family members to be careful in their business dealings due to increased scrutiny.

Both the IRS and the FBI were eyeing Hunter Biden prior to the announcement, but this information wasn’t released until after the election. Because the Department of Justice is banned from affecting the outcome of an election, former Attorney General William Barr chose to delay the news. Trump had been a booster of Barr, who has since fallen into disfavor with the ex-president due to this decision.

According to CNN and various other media sources, the investigation is far-ranging, including inquiries into potential tax violations resulting from Hunter Biden’s international dealings. Some of Biden’s connections have been linked to other investigations. For his part, Biden has acknowledged the reports as being vey serious, but has maintained that he is ”100% certain” that he will be exonerated.

Expect to hear more about this matter in the near future. We will continue to monitor developments.
