Career Discovery Week Eisner Amper

The national accounting firm EisnerAmper participated in the NYC Department of Education and the Partnership for New York City’s first-ever Career Discovery Week, held February 10-14, 2020.

More than 6,000 high school sophomores from approximately 140 schools in all five boroughs learned about a variety of exciting career opportunities at 180 participating organizations in the city’s corporate, financial and cultural sectors. The Partnership for New York City represents leading companies that employ more than 1.5 million New Yorkers.

EisnerAmper hosted approximately 70 students and provided an overview of the accounting, tax and advisory services it provides to a wide variety of clients as well as the changes that are rapidly reshaping the profession. The key takeaways were that this is an exciting time for accounting and advisory firms, and students have plenty of choices in this arena. For example, they can unmask corporate fraud as a forensic accountant, be the trusted financial advisor to the next sports superstar, or make an impact in many other types of business consulting services.

One of the students who participated at EisnerAmper commented: “It was both fun and informative. I enjoyed meeting the people who work here and listening to their stories and experiences.”

“It’s a great program, and I wholeheartedly encourage other companies to participate,” said Rob Levine, EisnerAmper Chief Operating Officer. “These students represent the future, and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to share our story and listen to theirs. I’m certain that we learned as much from them as they did from us.”
