W-2 and 1099 Forms Filer is designed for accountants who offer payroll and year-end filing services to their clients. The product is part of Advanced Micro Solutions (AMS) 1099-Etc. Suite of related products.

W-2 and 1099 Forms Filer is installed on a local desktop system, multiple PCs, or on a network. Each application is sold separately, and users can choose the modules that they desire, though complete payroll and year-end form processing will require that users purchase all of the modules.

All year-end forms can be processed using W-2 and 1099 Forms Filer, which is required in order to run any of the other modules that are available. The product supports common year-end forms including W-2, W-2C, W-3, all 1099 forms, 1096, 1098, 5498, and 1042S. The product also supports several Puerto Rico forms including PRR-3, PRW-2, PRW – 2C, and others. W-2 and 1099 Forms Filer supports up to 1,999 separate payers, and up to 99,999 employees per payer, making it a good choice for firms that process a high number of client year-end forms. The user interface mimics that of the form being completed, so data entry is quick and painless. The product also creates a Social Security number verification file, so users can quickly verify numbers with the agency.  

All W-2s and 1099s processed are designed to print using pre-printed forms, though an add-on is available that allows users to print on forms on blank paper. Users can also save generated forms as PDF’s and email directly to clients for in-house printing. The optional E-Filer add-on module provides users with the capability to electronically file all forms with the appropriate agency.

W-2 and 1099 Forms Filer is the core product offers from Advanced Micro Solutions and is required in order to use any of the other available modules, which include Software Generated Forms, Advanced Micro Solutions Payroll, E-Filer, and Forms Filer Plus. Users can also opt to use the product as a stand-alone forms processor as well. Users can easily import data from Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks, as well as from a variety of file formats including Comma Delimited, Tab Delimited Text files, Federal 1099 MAG File and Federal W-2 MAG File.  

All product updates are available on the AMS website, so users can download them when desired. The Customer Support function on the AMS website provides users with form instruction help, as well as access to both state and federally supported forms. Software manuals are also available for users to access and print if desired. FAQ’s are available for quick access from the website as well.   Product support is available during regular business hours, with support available via telephone, or through the website.

Summary & System Pricing

W-2 and 1099 Forms Filer is part of 1099-ETC, and is required in order to run any of the other related applications. W-2 and 1099 Forms Filer processes all year-end forms and additional modules are available for those that want to electronically file forms. All modules in 1099-ETC are priced separately, with W-2 and 1099 Forms Filer running $79.00. For those interested, the complete set of modules can be purchased for under $500.00.
