CohnReznick Names Partner to FASB Not-for-Profit Advisory Committee and Leader of Government and Public Sector Advisory
CohnReznick recently announced the appointment of Kelly A. Frank, CPA, CGMA, partner and Not-for-Profit and Education Industry Practice leader to the Financial Accounting Standard Board’s Not-for-Profit Advisory Committee and Frank Banda, CPA, CFE, PMP, as national director of Government and Public Sector Advisory Practice. Frank has more than 20 years of diversified public accounting experience providing audit and accounting services to not-for-profit clients. She also serves as a member of the Finance Committee, the finance committee for Joe Torre’s Safe at Home Foundation, the Financial Oversight Committee and the Strategic Planning Committee for the Foundation for Morristown Medical Center. She is a former Treasurer and Vice President of the Mental Health Association of Essex County, New Jersey, and is a board member and Chair of the Finance Committee for Caucus Educational Corporation. Frank graduated from Montclair State University.

Banda has more than 30 years of executive management, audit, accounting and consulting experience. He has served as an expert witness in complex cases in support for the U.S. Department of Justice. Banda received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Maryland.

Brown Smith Wallace Adds Tax Services Principal 
Brown Smith Wallace recently added Deborah Vandeven, CPA as a tax services principal. She has more than 25 years of experience in accounting and taxation, including individual, corporate and partnership returns, preparation of financial statements and consulting with clients on accounting and income tax issues. Vandeven earned her Bachelor’s Degree in accounting from Indiana University and a Master’s Degree in accounting from University of Missouri.

G.T. Reilly & Company Adds New Accountant
G.T. Reilly & Company recently added Catherine A. “Kate” Finn, CPA as a Senior Tax & Business Services accountant. Finn’s has nearly 20 years of bookkeeping, tax, payroll and accounting experience working with a wide variety of businesses and nonprofit organizations. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

SingerLewak Welcomes New Partners
SingerLewak recently promoted Kathy Lawson, CPA and Andy Armstrong, CPA to partners. Lawson has more than 15years of public accounting experience working with companies in services, manufacturing and distribution, software and life sciences. She provides assurance services to clients and performs engagement quality control reviews and technical consultations.  

Armstrong has more than 10 years of experience auditing middle market businesses, venture-backed technology companies and 401(k) Plans. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business-Accounting from the University of Utah.

Armanino Promotes Five New Tax and Audit Partners
Armanino LLP recently announced that Michael Boulton, Stacie Kowalczyk, Tony Lam, Min Riblett and Sergio Salas have been promoted to firm partners. Boulton, audit partner, has more than 10 years of experience in public accounting. He specializes in financial statement audits of nonprofit organizations and private and publicly held middle-market businesses.

Kowalczyk, audit partner, has more than 12 years of experience providing audits, reviews and other attestation services to for-profit entities in the retail, consumer products, smart grid technology and professional services industries.

Lam, tax partner, has more than 15 years of experience and leads the firm’s tax training program. He assists closely-held businesses on tax consulting and compliance. Lam also serves on the board of directors of CalCPA’s East Bay Chapter.

Riblett, tax partner, has more than 10 years of experience with a specialty in tax planning, consulting and compliance for closely-held businesses and high net worth individuals and families. She is a founding member of the firm’s Women’s Advancement Network.

Salas, tax partner, has more than 17 years of experience. Salas specializes in the real estate industry, advising clients on their personal taxes, as well as real estate transaction and deal structures. He also has extensive experience in partnership taxation.

Ryan Acquires National Clients of Nickel & Company LLC
Ryan recently announced the acquisition of the key assets of Nickel & Company, a full-service real estate and personal property tax firm based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This acquisition will help strengthen Ryan’s market leadership position in Oklahoma while adding numerous Fortune 1000 clients to Ryan’s client portfolio. Dennis Nickel, owner of Nickel & Company, will work with Ryan to transition the firm’s national clients.
