Scheffel Boyle Welcomes 15 New Team Members
Scheffel Boyle CPAs recently announced it will add 15 new staff members to its team, including nine interns for the annual FOCUS Internship program. The FOCUS Internship program is designed to offer local accounting students extensive training and real-world experience during tax season.

Keiter Announces New Leadership and Service Team
Keiter recently announced Gary G. Wallace, CPA has been named Tax Practice Leader and will also serve on the firm’s Executive Committee; Harold Martin, Jr., CPA/ABV/CFF, ASA, CFE will continue to serve as the Practice Leader of the Valuation and Forensic Services Department as well as on the firm’s Executive Committee; and Chris Wallace will continue to serve as the Practice Leader of the Business Assurance and Advisory Services Department. Wallace has 30 years of private and public accounting experience. He provides advisory services to clients on tax matters, such as tax accounting methods, multi-state tax matters, mergers and acquisitions, income tax accounting and representation with tax authorities.

Martin has more than 30 years of experience and specializes in business valuation and forensic accounting, including financial investigations and litigation consulting and expert witness services.

Wallace has 20 years of public accounting experience providing audit and consulting services to clients in the financial services industry. His expertise includes audit, review, due diligence, regulatory compliance, complex financial reporting matters and growth initiatives.

In addition, Keiter also announced the formation of its Family Executive & Entrepreneurial Advisory Services practice to provide comprehensive succession and wealth preservation services to families with multigenerational wealth, entrepreneurial business owners and corporate executives. Jennifer F. Flinchum, CPA, CFP®, PFS, previous Tax Practice Leader, will head the Family Executive & Entrepreneurial Advisory Services team. Flinchum has considerable expertise in strategic planning, succession planning, estate planning, charitable giving planning and exit strategies.

Grant Thornton Adds New Members
Grant Thornton LLP recently announced the addition of Ron Hartz as a director in its Business Consulting and Technology Advisory practice and Dawn Trapani, CPA as a partner in the Professional Standards practice. Hartz has decades of financial and corporate leadership experience helping companies align organizational and technology strategy. His expertise includes budgeting and forecasting, capital management, financial metrics, internal reporting and financial-system design and implementation. Hartz received his master’s of business administration degree from Lehigh University and his bachelor’s degree from East Stroudsburg University.

In her new role, Trapani will work closely with the firm’s technical accounting, financial reporting, regulatory, ethics and auditing groups. She has 25 years of experience leading and preparing numerous engagement teams to assess compliance with professional standards and policies during inspections. Trapani graduated with her bachelor’s degree from Pace University.

AGN International Announces Two New Committee Chairs
The AGN International Accounting and Auditing Committee recently added Scott Walters, CPA, MBA, CGMA, senior partner of Daszkal Bolton LLP, as the new chair for the IAAC and Glen MacMillan, CPA, CA, partner with Adams & Miles LLP, as the new chair for the International Tax Committee. Walters serves on his firm’s Executive Committee and leads its assurance practice. His expertise includes GAAP reporting and compliance with SEC rules and regulations. Walters also regularly gives regional and international seminars and presentations.

MacMillan, who has been very active on the ITC committee, regularly shares his knowledge and expertise on topics such as Article V of the Canada-U.S. tax treaty, Regulation 105 compliance and GST/HST for non-residents doing business in Canada.

Rehmann Adds New Directors
Rehmann recently added Lynn Henley as director of client services and business development and Lynn Valade as director of client services and business development. Henley has more than 20 years of experience in the banking and finance industry and currently serves as secretary on the board of directors for the McLaren Greater Lansing Healthcare Foundation. Henley graduated from Davenport University with her bachelor’s degree in business administration and social science.

Valade has 25 years of experience in the banking industry. Her expertise includes healthcare lending, small business lending, retail, wealth management and business development. Valade earned her bachelor’s degree in advertising from Michigan State University and her master’s degree in finance from Walsh College.

Ryan Acquires Shiv Om Consultants
Ryan recently acquired Shiv Om Consultants. Shiv Om Consultants, a severance tax firm. Through this acquisition, clients will have access to tax specialists with experience reducing severance tax liabilities for large oil and gas exploration and production companies.

Jody Padar Named Top LinkedIn Voice in Finance for Second Consecutive Year
LinkedIn recently named Jody Padar, CPA, MST to LinkedIn’s Top Voices list in Finance & Economy for the second year in a row. LinkedIn Top Voices is the company’s ranked list of the top 10 writers in 10 different areas: Influencer; Education; Finance & Economy; Healthcare; Management & Culture; Marketing & Social Media; Media; Student; Technology; VC & Entrepreneurship. LinkedIn looks at various data, including engagement, growth of followers tied to publishing activity and number of times the writer has been featured in a channel is his or her area of expertise. Padar is CEO and Principal of the New Vision CPA Group, a public accounting firm based in the Chicago area. She is the co-host of “Let’s Get Radical,” a radio show hosted on the Business Channel of VoiceAmerica. Padar is the author of The Radical CPA: New Rules for the Future-Ready Firm and is has been featured in several publications. She earned her BBA from Saint Mary’s College and MST from Northern Illinois University. Padar is also an adjunct professor at Oakton Community College and a contributing member of the Intuit Trainer Writer Network.
