Scheffel Boyle Principal Recognized as a “Top Accountant”
Scheffel Boyle recently announced that Steve Pembrook, CPA, principal, was recognized by St. Louis Small Business Monthly as a “Top Accountant” in the St. Louis region. Each year, the magazine recognizes the top accountants from the St. Louis area who chosen by its readers. Pembrook has more than 33 years of public accounting experience, working with a variety of clients, including financial institutions, construction companies, governmental entities, non-profit organizations and professionals in the agricultural industry. He leads Scheffel Boyle’s Accounting and Auditing team and is also very active in the Riverbend community.

BKD Managing Consultant Receives Cyberthreat Credentials
BKD recently announced that Lanny Morrow, managing consultant, Forensics & Valuation Services, received his certification as a Cyber-Threat Forensic Investigator from the McAfee Institute. He has more than 20 years of experience in data mining and digital forensics and has contributed to several university textbooks and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners’ Fraud Magazine. Morrow also serves as an adjunct professor in the Master’s in Data Science Program at Rockhurst University. He graduated with his B.A. degrees in accounting and finance from Missouri State University.

Intacct Appoints New Vice President of Market Development
Intacct recently announced the addition of Ian Howells as its new vice president of market development. In his new role, Howells will oversee the company’s expanding vertical market strategy. Howells has more than 20 years of marketing experience at startups and major software companies. He received his Ph.D. in distributed database systems and his Bachelor of Science Degree in Computing and Statistics from Cardiff University.

Moore Colson Announces Staff Promotions
Moore Colson recently announced the promotions of Sydney Trew, CPA and Joe Coleman, CPA to senior tax manager and Caroline Andrews, CPA and Cristina Simpson, CPA, CFE to business assurance manager. Trew’s focus is on tax compliance and planning, as well as tax, succession, estate and financial planning. Trew graduated from Samford University with a Masters of Accounting and a B.B.A. in Accounting with an emphasis in International Business.

Coleman provides tax compliance and planning services for clients in the real estate, manufacturing and distribution, professional services, and technology industries. His experience includes preparing corporate consolidated tax returns, developing tax planning strategies and preparing complex federal and multi-state tax returns for various entity types. Coleman received a Master of Accounting from Kennesaw State University and a B.B.A. in Accounting from Kennesaw State University.

Andrews has experience serving clients in the manufacturing, distribution and service, real estate partnership and commercial property industries. Her expertise includes financial statement audits, SOX and compliance engagements and 401(k) employee benefit plans. Andrews graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.B.A. in Accounting and a Master’s of Accounting.

Simpson has experience leading audit and assurance engagements within the real estate, manufacturing and distribution industries. She graduated from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa with a B.B.A. in Accounting.
