Elliott, Robinson & Company, LLP Announces Promotions
Elliott, Robinson & Company, LLP recently announced the following employee promotions: 

  • Stephanie Rice, CPA was promoted to manager. She assists clients with preparing corporate and individual tax returns and financial statements, as well as auditing employee benefit plans. Rice received her bachelor’s in Accounting from Missouri Southern State University and master’s degree in Accounting from Missouri State University. 
  • Carrie Brown, CPA was promoted to manager. She specializes in income tax planning, preparing individual, corporate, trust, estate tax and gift tax returns. She also audits employee benefit plans for clients in various industries. Brown received her bachelor’s in Accounting and master’s in Business Administration from Drury University. 
  • Andrea Stevens, CPA was promoted to supervisor. Stevens specializes in audits, tax returns and financial planning for nonprofit, for-profit and governmental companies. She received her bachelor’s in Business Administration in Management and Marketing from Evangel University and a master’s degree in Accountancy from Missouri State University.  
  • Kyrie Stewart, CPA was promoted to supervisor. Her expertise is providing audit services for nonprofit and city government organizations, as well as transportation companies across southwest Missouri. She graduated with her bachelor’s in Business Administration in Accounting from Drury University. 
  • Michele Smith, CPA was promoted to supervisor. She holds bachelors and master’s degrees in Accounting from Missouri State University. Smith specializes in the areas of individual and business income tax; trust, estate, and gift tax; financial compilations; and employee benefit plan audits. 
  • Matthew Blackwell, CPA was promoted to senior accountant. He specializes in work in compilations and low-income housing audits. Blackwell earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Accounting from Missouri State University. 
  • Wes Darnell, JD, CPA was promoted to senior accountant. He possesses both law and accounting experience and certifications, giving him a unique perspective with his clients. Darnell graduated from the University of Missouri School of Law with a Juris Doctor and Saint Louis University with a Master of Accounting. 
  • Matthew Calhoun, CPA was promoted to senior accountant. He currently manages client assignments and projects in accounting, bookkeeping and tax preparation. Calhoun earned his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Missouri State University.  

KPM CPAs Accountant Earns CPA Certification
KPM CPAs & Advisors recently announced that Brandon H. Talty, staff accountant, has recently completed all parts of his Certified Public Accounting examination and has earned his CPA license. Talty has more than two years of accounting experience, focusing on municipalities, counties, school districts, specialty districts, colleges and nonprofit organizations. He provides audit services to clients in the nonprofit and governmental industries. Talty graduated from Drury University with his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and finance. 

Bright!Tax Announces New Partner 
Bright!Tax recently announced the promotion of Katelynn Minott, CPA to partner. She manages the Bright!Tax Minott Group and has experience abroad, as well as with a Big Four accounting firm. Minott received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Denver. 

Bank of America Merrill Lynch Names New Senior Credit Products Officer 
Bank of America Merrill Lynch recently named named Susan Monaco as senior credit products officer in its Community Development Banking division. In her new role, Monaco will help lead the bank’s Federal Housing Administration underwriting platform for multifamily projects. She has nearly 10 years of experience in the FHA industry, with a specialization in the 221(d)(4) new construction and substantial rehabilitation programs. Monaco earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce from the University of Virginia and received training in Real Estate Appraisal Principles at American University. She also holds a Certified Tax Credit Compliance Professional designation. 

Scheffel Boyle Office Recognized 
Scheffel Boyle’s Jerseyville office was recently recognized as the 2015 Business of the Year by the Jersey County Business Association. The annual award is given to one business based on their economic contributions to the local area, business practices and overall community service involvement. The firm has an active presence in the local community, regularly donating to local causes and volunteering for numerous organizations. 

WeiserMazars Director Named to Board of Directors of AIRA 
WeiserMazars recently announced that Stephen Latuso, CPA, CIRA, CTA, director and head of the Corporate Advisory and Restructuring Group, was named a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors. Latuso’s experience includes conducting forensic accounting investigations, estimating damages and lost profits, and preparing analyses of preferential transfers and fraudulent conveyances, as well as providing bankruptcy advisory and restructuring services to financially distressed companies, lenders and creditors’ committees. He graduated from Binghamton University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in 2001.  

BerryDunn Announces New Hires 
BerryDunn recently announced the following new hires: Christina Dalessio as Marketing Manager; Alex Gagnon as PC Support Technician; Adam McNally as Content Marketing Manager; Jennie Palermo as CPE and Training Coordinator; David Andrus as Staff Accountant; Kimberly Brandt as Senior Consultant; Amanda Findlay as Consultant; Michael Martel as Senior Consultant; Meagan Shelton as Consultant; and Kathy Bennett as Manager 

Ryan Adds to the Executive Leadership Team of Ryan Advocacy 
Ryan recently hired Jeff Miller as Principal of Dispute Resolution in the firm’s recently formed Ryan Advocacy group. Miller will lead Ryan’s Advocacy and Legislative Affairs teams. Ryan Advocacy is dedicated to resolving tax disputes by assisting clients with controversy resolution and legislative services. Miller has provided strategic counsel to leading political figures and Fortune 500 companies throughout the country.  

PKF O’Connor Davies Names Managing Partner 
PKF O’Connor Davies, LLP recently announced that it has promoted Brian M. Flynn to New Jersey Managing Partner. Flynn has more than 30 years of expertise and will lead the firm’s aggressive growth plans in New Jersey. Flynn has extensive leadership experience and has worked with closely held corporations, educational institutions and not-for-profit organizations.
