WeiserMazars LLP Names New Chairman and Partners
WeiserMazars LLP recently that CEO Victor Wahba has been elected Chairman, succeeding Douglas A. Phillips who will become a senior advisor to the firm. As co-CEO of Mazars Group’s Global Executive Board, Wahba contributes to the development of the global strategy. He has extensive experience in finance and operations.

The firm also announced the addition of three new partners: Rita Chung, Peter Schablik and Faye Tannenbaum. Chung’s expertise includes transfer pricing and providing advisory services to clients in global restructuring, documentation, due diligence, intangible valuation and audit defense.

Schablik’s experience includes project management, risk consulting, information technology and internal audit outsource/co-source initiatives.

Tannenbaum has more than 25 years of tax experience in tax compliance and research and planning services for some of the largest international and domestic companies in the United States.

Scheffel Boyle Moves Offices to New Locations
Scheffel Boyle recently moved their Columbia and Belleville offices to new locations. The new offices will open to clients this coming tax season. Scheffel Boyle’s two Belleville offices have combined into a more spacious office. Both offices can still be reached by their original phone and fax numbers.

Former CohnReznick LLP COO Launches New Advisory Firm
Dom Esposito, former Chief Operating Officer, National Practice & Growth Director and Executive Board member of CohnReznick LLP, will be leaving the firm when his contract expires and launching a new advisory firm. Esposito’s firm, Esposito CEO2CEO, LLC, will serve small and mid-sized CPA firms throughout the United States. Esposito CEO2CEO’s focus will be on helping CPA firms become a mid-market sustainable brand. Esposito Dom has helped identify and integrate more than 15 merger combinations. He has also assisted in the integration that was a result of the combination of J.H. Cohn and the Reznick Group to form CohnReznick.

Armanino Announces New Partners
Armanino LLP recently announced that it has welcomed Mark C. Hutchison, CPA as a new tax partner and promoted nine partners: Michael Bossi; Chris Carlberg; Jason Gilbert; Timothy Guderian; Larry Hancock; David Hersch; Katerina Starkova; Ryan Teed; and Yu-Ting Wang. Hutchison has more than 25 years of experience working with service, production, distribution, finance and sales agent companies in the entertainment industry and with high net worth individuals. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from California State University, Northridge and received his Master of Science degree in taxation from Golden Gate University. 

Bossi, audit partner, has more than 15 years of public accounting experience and specializes in serving commercial and residential developers, builders, shopping center operators and investors. His expertise includes audit, mergers and acquisitions, internal controls review and tax planning.

Chris Carlberg, partner, is responsible for leading Armanino’s day-to-day operations and serves as the firm’s general counsel. He also oversees the development of new consulting solutions and partnerships, as well as the firm’s M&A transactions.

Jason Gilbert, audit partner, specializes in the real estate lending sector, including private equity funds, real estate crowdfunding and peer-to-peer portals.

Timothy Guderian, tax partner, has more than 25 years of experience working with high tech, software and internet clients. His expertise includes Section 382, ASC 740 (FAS 109), SOX compliance, M&A and tax audits.

Larry Hancock is a partner at Armanino’s media and communications division, AMF Media Group. He manages strategy, brand marketing and leads the client services team.

David Hersch, tax partner, expertise includes pass-through entities and individual taxation. He works with clients in the mortgage pool and real estate sectors.  He has deep expertise in pass-through entities and individual taxation.

Katerina Starkova, audit partner, has more than 15 years of public accounting experience. She works with SEC and private companies with an emphasis in the life science and technology industries.

Ryan Teed, audit partner, has more than 15 years of public and private accounting experience. He serves private, SEC and nonprofit clients in the technology, employee benefit plans and manufacturing and distribution niches.

Yu-Ting Wang, tax partner, has more than 15 years of experience working with closely-held businesses and individuals.
