NSBN LLP and Alliott Group Announce Deputy Worldwide Chairman of International Alliance of Professional Firms
Alliott Group recently announced the election of Kenneth A. Miles, CPA, Managing Partner of NSBN LLP, as the Deputy Worldwide Chairman. Members also voted to for Miles to serve as Chairman of the North America Region. The announcement was made at Alliott Group’s Worldwide Conference in New York City.

CohnReznick Partner Elected to New Jersey Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors
CohnReznick LLP recently announced that Philip Mandel, CPA, CFP, Regional Managing Partner-New York/New Jersey and Co-Office Managing Partner of the Roseland, NJ office, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce. Mandel is a member of both CohnReznick’s Executive Board and Financial Services Industry Practice. His expertise is in accounting, auditing, tax and consulting services for broker/dealers, hedge funds (including offshore entities), investment management companies and Registered Investment Advisers. Mandel received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Vermont and his Certified Financial Planner designation from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

CohnReznick Advisory Appoints New Staff
CohnReznick LLP has appointed Mario Pompeo, CPA, CGMA, as an advisory partner; Gary Purpura, JD, LL.M. as a principal in its Tax Practice; Carolyn Neyer as a director; Irene McDonnell  as a tax manager; and Zach Papanagnostou as a Tax Senior Associate. Pompeo will lead the firm’s CFO Advisory Practice. Using his extensive financial transformation and leadership expertise, Pompeo has helped clients with initial public offerings, strategic and operational planning, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, due diligence, financial planning and analysis/budgeting and other financial topics. He graduated from Pennsylvania State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science, Accounting.

Purpura has 25 years of diverse tax provision, compliance and consulting experience in a variety of industries including real estate, media, communications, biotechnology, professional services firms, private equity and venture capital. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Seton Hall University, a Juris Doctorate from Pace University and his Masters of Law in Taxation from the New York University School of Law.

Armanino Expands Southern California Presence with Merger
Armanino LLP recently announced it will merge with LaRue, Corrigan, McCormick & Teasdale LLP. As part of the agreement, a new office will be located in the San Fernando Valley, which will allow Armanino to better serve clients in the region and provide more options for local employees to work where they live. In addition, LCMT clients will now have access to Armanino’s specialized set of accounting and business management solutions that focus on complex corporate returns, international tax, R&D credits, family office, estate planning, M&A preparedness and expanded audit expertise, as well as a full suite of technology consulting services such as budget and forecasting, business reporting and analytics, cloud solutions and ERP. LCMT will become Armanino and keep its Woodland Hills, California office location, allowing clients to continue working with the same partners and staff without disruption to service.

PwC Appoints Two New Partners
PricewaterhouseCoopers recently appointed Rick Warren and Khalid Wasti, CPA to partner in its Risk Assurance Practice. Warren has more than 23 years of experience in risk-related consulting, and will support the growth of PwC’s Performance Governance Risk and Compliance solutions in the Greater Atlanta market. Warren earned his Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Florida State University.

Wasti’s expertise includes controls and risk management reviews for accounting, finance and IT functions across multiple industries. In his new role, he will oversee strategy and build out audit capabilities for technology-related risks, such as mobile, cloud, cyber, analytics and social media risks. Wasti earned his MBA in Accounting at Baruch College in New York City, and a BA in Economics from Columbia University.

Florida Accounting Firms Merge
Roberto Ibarra, EA recently announced that his accounting firm has merged with TCG to form Ibarra Garcia Garcia LLC. Ibarra’s practice has served clients for more than 40 years.

Miami Firms Merge
Howard Rosenbloom, CPA, MBA, RIA, recently merged his accounting and tax practice with Jacobs, Nones, & Carney, CPAs. The firm is located in South Miami with over 15 professionals and will provide tax, accounting, and consulting services under a new name.

ACM Capital Partners Names New Director
ACM Capital Partners recently announced Emilio Ortega, CPA has been named vice president. Ortega previously served as the director of accounting at Assurant. He received his bachelor’s and master’s in accounting from Florida International University.

Schowalter & Jabouri Names New Audit Supervisor
Schowalter & Jabouri, P.C., recently announce that Jennifer N. Jenkins, CPA has been promoted to Audit Supervisor.  Jenkins graduated from the University of Missouri – Columbia with a Masters in Accountancy.
