CohnReznick LLP Director Inducted into Affordable Housing Hall of Fame; Firm Adds New Partner and Completes First Phase of Headquarters Relocation
CohnReznick LLP recently announced the induction of Bob Moss, Principal and National Director of Government Affairs into the Affordable Housing Hall of Fame and the selection of Raymond Baggeri, CPA as a partner. Moss joins two other CohnReznick leaders who have been inducted: the late David Reznick, co-founder and Chairman of the Board of Reznick Group, P.C., in 2010 and Jeanne Peterson, a Director at CohnReznick, in 2013. Moss has provided testimony on the low-income housing tax credit on behalf of over 450 national housing organizations before the full House Ways and Means Committee on Tax Credit Reform and Residential Real Estate hearings and currently serves as chairman of the Housing Advisory Group. He is also Vice President of the National Leased Housing Association and led the formation of the Council of Independent State Housing. 

Baggeri is a member of the firm’s Retail and Consumer Products Industry Practice with more than 15 years of accounting experience in the retail and consumer products industry. His expertise is in financial planning, revenue recognition, joint ventures, acquisitions and divestitures, budgeting, reporting, analysis and business management for large privately-held companies. Baggeri graduated from Montclair State University with a Bachelor of Science with concentrations in Accounting and Finance.

CohnReznick also announced the completion of the first phase of its move to new headquarters location. The new location represents a significant expansion and upgrade for the firm’s national headquarters and features state-of-the-art work spaces and collaborative meeting areas completely customized for CohnReznick’s growth plan. Approximately half of the firm’s New York employees have moved into the new building and the rest of the employees are scheduled to move in 2016 as part of the second and final phase of the relocation, to be completed at the end of 2016.

Anton & Chia, LLP Completes Joint Venture Arrangement with Zhonghui
Anton & Chia, LLP recently that it entered into a joint venture agreement with Zhonghui to form Zhonghui Anton. The new venture will run joint projects with Canadian and US domestic companies and assist in taking companies public on the Hong Kong Exchange and major stock exchanges in China.

Haskell & White Hires Senior Audit Manager and Director of Finance and Administration
Haskell & White recently hired Hogi Kurniawan, CPA as a senior manager in the Audit and Business Advisory Services Department and Eleanor Schultz as director of finance and administration. Kurniawan’s expertise is in the manufacturing, distribution, retail and software sectors. His specialties include debt restructuring and refinancing, mergers and acquisitions, revenue recognition, private audits, Sarbanes-Oxley 404 audits and proper accounting for complex business transactions. Kurniawan graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business.

In her new role, Schultz will oversee the firm’s internal accounting and finance functions, human resources and facilities, as well as assist with the firm’s overall strategic direction. She has 18 years of experience developing financial controls and establishing policies and procedures to optimize efficiency, reduce costs and maximize profitability. Schultz graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Binghamton University.

O’Connor Davies Announces Merger of Stanley Marks & Company, LLP
O’Connor Davies, LLP recently announced a merger with Stanley Marks & Company, LLP. This merger is the latest by O’Connor Davies as the firm continues to grow its regional and national presence while building out their niche practice areas. Stanley Marks has served clients across a range of industries, particularly in the medical and commercial practice areas, for the past 65 years.

WeiserMazars LLP Honored by Chhange; Announces Expansion and Realignments
WeiserMazars LLP recently announced that it has been named the first recipient of the Corporate Leadership Award from the Center for Holocaust, Human Rights & Genocide Education for its philanthropic initiatives and commitment to human rights. Chhange’s mission is to educate the community about the Holocaust and genocide, and provide programs that inspire and empower individuals to take action to eliminate racism, antisemitism and all forms of prejudice.

WeiserMazars also announced that it has expanded and realigned its market segments as part of its ongoing growth strategy as the firm approaches its 100th anniversary. As part of the expansion, two new groups have been formed: International Services Group, led by Louis Osmont, partner, and Professional Services/Entrepreneurial Business Group, led by John Witkowski, partner. The realignment also includes the combining of the Media and the Technology Groups (formerly included in the Manufacturing & Distribution Practice Group), led by Kevin Pianko. Kathryn A. Byrne, partner, will lead the Manufacturing & Distribution Practice Group.

Grant Thornton Expands Practices
Grant Thornton LLP recently appointed Judd Wright, CPA as a managing director in the firm’s Philadelphia Audit practice and Steven Kuzma, CPA, CFE, ACFE, CCEP as managing director and Joseph Galanti, CFA, CFE, ACFE as principal in its Atlanta Forensic and Valuation Services practice. In his new role, Wright will serve clients in the asset management industry throughout the Atlantic Coast region. With almost 15 years of financial services experience, Wright specializes in auditing entities within the asset management sector focusing on alternative funds, registered funds, investment managers, broker-dealers and Global Investment Performance Standards verifications. He received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Susquehanna University.

Kuzma has more than 35 years of experience in investigative services, corporate compliance services, financial, accounting and economic analyses, valuation assistance and complex commercial dispute resolution support. He has worked with clients in the retail, consumer and industrial products, financial services, healthcare, life sciences, entertainment, real estate agriculture, utilities and technology industries. Kuzma received a master’s of business administration degree in finance and accounting from Rollins College and a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from Florida Atlantic University.

Galanti has more than 20 years of financial and accounting experience assisting clients as a damages specialist in lost profit, working capital and valuation disputes, fraud investigations and business interruption insurance claims. He has authored several articles and book chapters on fraud, dispute and insurance claim topics. Galanti received a master’s of business administration degree in finance and a bachelor’s degree in international economics from The George Washington University.
