Fewer Organizations Outsourcing Payroll Functions, Says Report

A key finding in a new report from global information company Bloomberg BNA is that, unlike other key operational areas such as information technology and human resources, businesses are less likely to outsource the payroll function. 

The Payroll Benchmarks and Analysis 2015-2016 report is a comprehensive overview of payroll operations, staffs, budgets, responsibilities and performance. The report covers a wide range of critical metrics and includes over 100 charts and tables and analysis designed to provide unmatched reporting on payroll department resources, obligations, workload, and performance across a broad spectrum of topics and measurements.

This year’s survey found that only 12 percent of businesses are outsourcing most or all of their payroll functions, down from 56 percent in 2011 and 21 percent in 2013.
