Barbacci Becomes Chairman of Florida Institute of CPAs

The Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA) announces that Jeffrey E. Barbacci, CPA, of Tallahassee will serve as the FICPA’s 2014-2015 Chair of the Board. Barbacci’s term began July 1, 2014.

The Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA) announces that Jeffrey E. Barbacci, CPA, of Tallahassee will serve as the FICPA’s 2014-2015 Chair of the Board. Barbacci’s term began July 1, 2014.

“We wholeheartedly welcome Jeff to the role of FICPA Chairman,” said FICPA President/CEO Deborah Curry, CPA, CGMA. “His expertise is in not-for-profit and governmental accounting, and he has spent countless hours educating CPAs about auditing and preventing fraud. As an advocate of innovation, he creates solutions for our organization and for the CPA profession. We look forward to his year as Board Chair.”

Barbacci, a shareholder at Thomas Howell Ferguson PA, earned his bachelor’s in accounting and master’s of accountancy at Stetson University. He has served on 28 FICPA committees and sections, many of which he chaired, and was the first chair of the Institute’s Young CPAs Committee. He has been a member of the Institute’s Board of Governors for 10 years and has served as an FICPA representative on the AICPA Council.

Barbacci is a past recipient of the FICPA Presidential Service Award and is active in the local not-for-profit community.
