Intuit EasyACCT is a comprehensive write-up solution for accountants. It allows users to manage the processes for write-up, accounts receivable and payable, payroll, bank reconciliation, asset depreciation and financial reporting. It supports SUTA, 940, 941, W-2 and 1099 forms, automatically e-filing with the IRS. Users can also manage live and after-the-fact payroll.

Basic System Functions – 4.75 Stars

With Intuit EasyACCT, professionals can manage all of their write-up processes in one solution. EasyACCT has built-in modules for write-up processing, appreciation and depreciation, bank reconciliation, financial amortization, accounts payable and receivable, payroll and W-2 /1099. EasyACCT integrates with Lacerte and ProSeries tax products so users can transfer their asset information at tax time. The system supports W-2, W-3, 940, 941, and 1099 forms. It can be installed on an individual workstation or over a network.

Reporting – 4.25 Stars

EasyACCT allows users to manage the year-end wage and information reporting process and electronically file and print the necessary forms and reports. The solution keeps payroll data in the system for two years, allowing users to refer back to it when necessary. The solution uses the Information Return System to manage data and electronically file W-2 and 1099 forms.

EasyACCT also calculates and print unemployment tax returns for 21 states and provides SUTA worksheets for all 50 states. Users can choose to print tax deposit checks for their client’s payroll taxes or make a direct deposit from their client’s bank into their employee’s account. The system will generate customized financial statements and reports. Reports can be customized by including cover pages, changing fonts, adding message lines, and more. Forms can be printed using preprinted laser forms, laser-generated forms or continuous feed forms.

Import/Export/Integration – 3.5 Stars

EasyACCT features seamless integration Lacerte, ProSeries, and QuickBooks. Users can transfer both prior and current year general ledger and asset data to the Lacerte and ProSeries tax programs. In addition, vendor information, general ledger transactions, payroll and employee information can be transferred using the QuickBooks Transfer Utility.

Help/Support – 4.5 Stars

Intuit’s webpage for EasyACCT features links to a recorded webinar, Frequently Asked Questions and a link to the product’s support page, where users will find in-depth help topics. Intuit also provides unlimited technical support. Updates for the software can be downloaded online, however, initial installation must be from the software CD.

Summary & Pricing

The Professional version is available for $1349. A client version is available for $399, which allows accounting professionals to share information and data with their clients. Users who do not want the complete EasyACCT solution can purchase EasyACCT Write-Up Information Return System for $299 which handles just the e-filing of W-2 and 1099 forms.
