National Taxpayer Advocate Erin Collins to Join Tax Retreat 2026 in San Antonio

Fourth annual Tax Retreat event reveals full agenda featuring Erin Collins, Heather Satterley, Kelly Phillips Erb, Terry Lemons, and more.

Tax Retreat has announced that National Taxpayer Advocate Erin Collins will join the speaker lineup for #TaxRetreat26, which will be held June 3-6, 2026, in San Antonio.

The announcement comes alongside the release of the full 2026 agenda for the fourth annual event, which has quickly become known for bringing together tax professionals, accountants, bookkeepers, consultants, app partners, educators, and industry leaders in a more intimate and community-focused setting.

Collins will participate in a featured “Pull Up a Chair” conversation designed to foster open discussion around taxpayer advocacy, practitioner concerns, and the future of tax administration.

Over the past several years, Collins has become one of the most respected and trusted voices in the tax profession, particularly during periods of unprecedented challenges and uncertainty surrounding IRS operations and taxpayer services. Her work as National Taxpayer Advocate has consistently elevated practitioner concerns while advocating for improvements that directly impact taxpayers and tax professionals alike.

Organizers say bringing that perspective into the Tax Retreat environment reflects the heart of what the event was created to do.

“One of the things that makes Tax Retreat special is the opportunity for real conversations. The chance to bring Erin Collins into an intimate setting focused on conversation, collaboration, and community is something we’re incredibly grateful for,” Executive Committee member Adam Watson said in a statement.

Founded four years ago as a gathering primarily for tax professionals, Tax Retreat has steadily evolved into a broader event serving professionals across the accounting ecosystem. While technical education remains important, the Retreat has become equally known for its emphasis on human connection, community-building, and honest industry dialogue.

Additional featured sessions on the 2026 agenda include:

  • Tax Tea with Kelly Phillips Erb and Terry Lemons: A candid and engaging discussion featuring two respected industry voices sharing insights, stories, and perspectives surrounding tax administration and the profession.
  • CAS Craze & Building Partnerships with Heather Satterley: A session exploring the continued evolution of client advisory services and how firms can strengthen relationships and modern advisory offerings.

In addition to CPE and educational sessions, attendees can expect curated small-group dinners, networking experiences, and community activities throughout San Antonio designed to encourage meaningful conversations and long-term professional relationships.
