Top 300 accounting firm Stephano Slack closed out 2025 by announcing it has merged in CL Rotz and Associates, an accounting firm based in Oreland, PA, effective Dec. 15.
Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. Following the merger, CL Rotz will operate under the Stephano Slack name and continue serving clients from its Oreland office.
As part of the transition, John Loughlin Jr., CPA partner in Stephano Slack’s headquarters in Wayne, PA, will serve as partner-in-charge for the Oreland location.
The combination with CL Rotz marks Stephano Slack’s sixth merger since January 2024 and follows two other merger deals it completed in late 2025. The firm added Wilmington, DE-based firm Boyer & Boyer CPA and CPA firm Kimmel, Lorah & Associates in Audubon, PA.

After building his career and serving as a partner with several small firms in the region for more than 20 years, Chris Rotz realized his lifelong goal of launching his own practice in 2003, focusing on tax accounting and consulting. Throughout his career, Rotz was known for his hands-on approach, deep understanding of his clients’ needs, and the long-standing relationships he cultivated—many spanning more than 30 years.
Rotz passed away on July 27, 2025. He was 64 years old, according to his obituary.
Kelly DiMaria and Kris Griffin worked closely with Rotz for many years and will continue to uphold his client-first philosophy, carrying forward the legacy he built as part of Stephano Slack.
