Dext, a provider of AI-powered bookkeeping automation, has launched Dext Payments in Canada. Payments, Dext’s most requested feature to date, is now available to Dext customers using QuickBooks Online and Xero across Canada, including Quebec. During beta testing ahead of the launch, Canadian businesses and their advisers already processed more than $2 million through Payments. The move marks Dext’s first expansion of its payments feature outside of the UK, where the capability launched earlier this year.

A fully integrated payment solution, Payments lets businesses and advisers manage, approve and make supplier invoice and employee expense payments directly within Dext. Closing the invoice-to-payment gap, Payments connects document capture, invoice processing, approvals and payments in one place, so businesses and advisers can go from a captured invoice to a completed payment without switching tools.

For many Canadian businesses, late supplier payments come down to disconnected processes on the paying side, tracking what’s owed, when it’s due, and who needs to approve it, often across separate tools. Dext built Payments in Canada based on direct feedback from Canadian firms and businesses throughout development to make sure it fits how they actually work. Payments is built to help close that gap, giving businesses and their advisers everything they need to get supplier payments out the door on time, from one connected platform.

Launched in the UK in February 2026, UK businesses have processed more than £16 million through the platform, demonstrating strong demand for bringing invoice capture, approvals and payments into one place. The Canadian launch brings that same workflow to a new market for the first time.

“Canada is a significant market for Dext, and launching Payments here is an important step in our growth beyond the UK,” said Sabby Gill, CEO of Dext. “We’ve seen how much time and control UK businesses and their advisers have gained by bringing payments into Dext, and Canadian businesses are dealing with the same disconnected processes, on top of some of the slowest payment times tracked anywhere. Payments gives them one trusted place to manage it all.“

Invoices are uploaded to Dext and details are extracted automatically, with AI turning invoices into structured data before they reach the ledger. From there, users import invoices awaiting payment from QuickBooks Online and Xero, build single or batch payment runs, send for approval through secure workflows, and submit payments, all without leaving the platform.
