Xerocon 2026, the biannual conference hosted by small business financial technology maker Xero, opened in Denver on Wednesday, August 19, featuring technology programs, CPE sessions, hands-on demos and tech training, and a deep-dive into the company’s latest announcements and future plans. The conference runs through August 20.

The conference also featured a trade show floor, with technology vendors that provide integrations with Xero and compliment the system as part of a broader business platform.

The opening event of day one included announcements of a host of new technology advancements geared toward improving small business automation and efficiency, as well as solving or letting AI assist with critical issues such as reconciliation, cash flow, payments, and accounts receivable.

“Among the standout announcements from Xero and Melio was the progress around JAX,” said Kevin Permenter, research director at IDC. “This really shows how the platform is evolving from a reactive ledger into a true system of action, giving small business owners the tools to seamlessly execute critical workflows or automate them end-to-end.”

Speakers at Xerocon Denver 2026 included senior leaders at Xero, including CEO, Sukhinder Singh Cassidy; Chief Product and Technology Officer, Diya Jolly, Managing Director North America, Andrew Kanzer; and U.S. Xero and Melio CEO, Matan Bar.

Guest speakers included tennis legend Andre Agassi as the headliner, professional motivational speaker Rachel Sheerin as the emcee, plus Jasmine Crow-Houston, Simon Curran, and a panel discussion led by CPA Practice Advisor‘s editor-in-chief emerita Gail Perry, CPA.

The event program was designed for deeper dives through more focused content tracks and interactive sessions addressing the industry’s most critical topics, from AI to advanced advisory services. The content was designed for people at all levels at accounting firms, from thought leadership insights for practice owners and leaders, to education how-tos for practice staff, and everything in between.

The company also made several announcements detailing other exciting enhancements designed to make this the most impactful Xerocon experience yet.

Event partners included Gusto, Karbon, Ramp, and Amazon Business. Forty additional vendors were present on the tradeshow exhibit floor.
