Top 60 accounting firm Mauldin & Jenkins has expanded its practice within the Greater Columbia, SC, area through a merger with Schmoyer and Co., effective Aug. 1.
Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. Schmoyer and Co. will continue operating from its current office location in Columbia, SC.
This is Atlanta-based Mauldin & Jenkins’ second M&A deal in 2026. In January, the firm merged with The Prinzo Group, a government-focused technology firm based in Alpharetta, GA.

Schmoyer and Co. brings extensive experience in healthcare accounting, small business advisory, bookkeeping, strategic tax planning, and preparation, as well as traditional accounting and audit services.
These strengths complement Mauldin & Jenkins’ existing operations in the region, particularly for closely held businesses and healthcare entities, officials say.

Schmoyer and Co. President and Managing Partner Terry Schmoyer and partners Kathy Wine and Chris Controne have joined Mauldin & Jenkins as partners.
This partnership brings additional expertise in corporate finance capabilities, including business valuations, mergers and acquisitions, and transaction advisory, as well as specialty tax and healthcare support, officials say.
