Owings Mills, MD-based full-service CPA firm Gorfine, Schiller & Gardyn has joined Sorren, adding to the top 100 accounting firm’s footprint in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
This is Meridian, ID-based Sorren’s third M&A deal this year. The firm acquired Connected Accounting in California in February and Hess & Rohmer in Texas in January.
Sorren was formed in 2025 through the combination of leading regional firms and private equity backing, with a mission to build a forward-thinking, nationally connected firm that remains deeply rooted in local markets.

This latest deal with GSG marks Sorren’s entry into Maryland and enhances its ability to serve clients across the region with expanded resources and specialized expertise, the firm says.
“GSG has built an impressive legacy by staying true to its client-first approach while continuing to evolve. That balance of tradition and forward-thinking is exactly what we value at Sorren as we expand our national platform,” Sorren CEO Josh Tyree said in a statement on May 12.
Founded in 1934, GSG provides accounting, tax, and advisory services to a diverse client base, with particular focus in real estate, healthcare, nonprofit, and construction.
GSG is currently the seventh-largest CPA firm in the Baltimore metropolitan area.
