Top 50 accounting firm HBK (Hill, Barth & King) has merged in Brimmer, Burek and Keelan, a Tampa, FL-based CPA firm, effective May 1.
Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. Canfield, OH-based HBK adds 22 professionals as a result of the transaction.
This is HBK’s first M&A deal of 2026. The accounting firm made at least three deals last year, acquiring MKS&H in Maryland, KHS in New Jersey, and Acuity Human Resources.

With BB&K, HBK now operates 21 offices nationwide and serves clients across six Florida markets: Boca Raton, Fort Myers, Naples, Stuart, Sarasota, and Tampa.

BB&K Managing Partner Donald Keyes will join HBK as principal and market leader for the Tampa office.

In addition, Heather Kovalsky joins HBK as a principal in the Tampa office, bringing more than 20 years of tax experience to the firm. Susan Evans, Kara Keyes, Terry Kuhn, and Cong Nguyen will be joining the firm as senior directors.
