Illinois

The Illinois CPA Society (ICPAS) is excited to announce that Senior Director of Membership Nikki Palluzzi, CAE, has been named Association Forum’s 2026 John C. Thiel Distinguished Service Award recipient and will be formally recognized at the Honors Gala on June 25, 2026, at The Old Post Office in Chicago. Association Forum’s Honors Awards recognize individuals and organizations who demonstrate excellence in leadership, service, and innovation across the association community.

Recipients are selected based on their measurable impact, commitment to advancing the profession, and dedication to fostering inclusive and high-performing organizations. The John C. Thiel Distinguished Service Award honors outstanding volunteer service to Association Forum, with Palluzzi being recognized for her unwavering dedication, mentorship, and long-standing contributions to the association community.

Palluzzi, 42, currently a Chicago resident, is a native of Connecticut and an alumna of Loyola University Chicago. She’s a current member of the Association Forum and served as the vice chair of the Holiday Showcase Tradeshow Advisory Group in 2025. She’s currently facilitating several programs through the Association Forum and also serves as vice president of Friends of Palmer Elementary and as a volunteer coach with the Chicago Park District. Palluzzi was also formerly named one of Association Forum’s “Forty Under 40” award recipients. 

Indiana

The Indiana CPA Society (INCPAS) has opened registration for its Not-for-Profit Conference. The in-person conference will be held on July 23 from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM. The cost of the conference is $369. To find out more or to register, visit the conference page.

Ohio

The Ohio Society of CPAs (OSCPA) has announced that nine OSCPA member firms have been named to USA TODAY’s 2026 list of America’s Most Recommended Tax & Accounting firms, a national ranking developed in partnership with market research firm Statista.

The firms recognized were:

  • Clark Schaefer Hackett 
  • Cohen & Company 
  • GBQ 
  • HBK 
  • JP Moeller 
  • REA & Associates 

According to USA TODAY, the rankings are intended to help both individuals and businesses navigate a complex professional services landscape, where firm size, specialty, and availability can vary widely.

Wisconsin

The Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants (WICPA) is holding its Member Recognition Banquet on May 8, 2026, at the Brookfield Conference Center. Free to members, the event begins at 5:00 PM and runs until 10:00 PM. For more information or to register, be sure to visit the WICPA member recognition page.  

Iowa

The Iowa Society of CPAs (ISCPA) has opened registration for the ISCPA Leadership Summit which will take place at the Courtyard by Marriott in Ankeny, IA on May 7, 2026. Minnesota

The Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants (MNCPA) has opened registration for the MNCPA Leadership Academy, designed for accounting professionals ages 25 – 35 with at least three years of professional experience. The workshops take place on the following dates:

June 25, 2026 – Leadership Foundations

July 20, 2026 – How to Lead Well in All Directions

August 31, 2026 – Essential Leadership Skills

September 23, 2026 – Take Your Leadership to the Next Level

The four workshops take place from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The cost of the Leadership Academy is $1,999 for MNCPA members, with non-members paying $2,499. To learn more about the workshops or to register, visit the Signature Events/Leadership page

Colorado

The Colorado Society of CPAs (COCPA) has released the Summer of Fun 2026 events, which take place at various venues in Denver starting in May.

The events include:

May 13, 2026 – Sip and Socialize: Wine Tasting

June 23, 2026 – Baseball and Banter: Rockies Baseball

July 23, 2026 – Drive Your Connections: Golf

August 19, 2026 – Fetch & Friends: A Dog-Friendly Social
