Top 100 accounting firm Sorren has appointed Josh Tyree as CEO, effective Jan. 20, following a planned leadership transition.
He had been president of Sorren since the firm’s launch last spring, when 13 accounting firms from across the U.S. came together to form the new venture, which is backed by DFW Capital Partners, a New York-based private equity firm.
Tyree was president of Meridian, ID-based Harris CPAs, one of the 13 firms involved in the combination, and was heavily involved in Sorren’s creation.
Sorren now has 23 offices across California, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, North Carolina, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, and Wisconsin.

Michael O’Donnell, who has served as CEO during Sorren’s initial formation and integration period, will transition to executive chairman, where he will continue to provide strategic guidance and leadership counsel.

The progress Sorren has made over the past two years exceeded expectations, and Josh is well-prepared to lead the firm into its next phase.”
As president, Tyree focused on partner alignment and firm integration, helping bring together multiple legacy firms into a cohesive national tax, accounting, and advisory firm. In his role as CEO, he will continue to support partner success while placing greater emphasis on strategic direction, innovation, and the development of new service offerings.

His approach to leadership extends beyond business outcomes to include cultivating environments where individuals and communities can thrive.
