The Ohio Society of CPAs (OSCPA) features Power of Change honoree Jessie Wright, PhD, CPA, CVA, CGMA. Jessie is an assistant professor at Youngstown State University and a senior advisor (part-time) at SSB. You can read the entire profile on the OSCPA website.

The New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA) has announced the passing of chief operating officer Theresa Hinton on November 12, 2025. Ms. Hinton’s career with the NJCPA spanned more than 30 years.

To honor Theresa Hinton, the Society is currently accepting scholarship donations in her memory.

The Connecticut Society of CPAs (CTCPA)will honor 15 outstanding women at the CTCPA Women’s Awards event, which will take place on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at the TPC River Highlands.

The Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA) and The Educational Foundation of GSCPA announced its first-ever Day of Giving on December 19, 2025. The goal is to receive a donation from all 159 counties in Georgia. The Foundation, founded in 1957, was formed to aid and advance education and research relating to the study, teaching, and practice of accountancy and allied fields.

The South Carolina Association of CPAs (SCACPA) recently opened the scholarship application process for 2026-2027. For the 2025-2026, the Educational Fund awarded scholarships to 40 recipients representing 11 colleges and universities.

The West Virginia Society of CPAs (WVCPA) is calling for nominations for its 2026 awards. They are looking for candidates in several fields, including:
