Travel and expense management solutions provider Ramp has launched 1099 filing directly inside its Bill Pay product, giving businesses a fully integrated solution to prepare and file forms 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC in just a few clicks.
“January hits finance teams the same way every year. You chase missing W-9s. You calculate payments from four different systems. You squint at IRS instructions. And you race the clock to file on time. It’s one of the most tedious months in accounting. Today, we’re fixing that,” Patrick Keating, lead product manager at Ramp, wrote in a blog post about its new 1099 filing capabilities.

Ramp manages all forms needed for filing all in one place, without forcing finance and accounting teams to juggle spreadsheets, external tools, or manual uploads.
“The hardest part of 1099 season isn’t the forms—it’s how scattered and manual the process is. One task here. Another task there,” Keating wrote. “Ramp gathers everything in one place and automates the grunt work so you can finish in minutes, not weeks.
Ramp’s 1099 filing automates the multistep process by:
- Automatically identifying 1099-eligible vendors.
- Bulk collects W-9 forms and e-consent form.
- Analyzes payment history to suggest 1099-NEC/MISC box mappings—once applied, all 1099s forms are generated instantly.
- Filing 1099s directly with the IRS and eligible states with one click.

“When you’re ready, batch file all your 1099s directly with the IRS and states that participate in the IRS Combined Federal/State (CF/SF) Filing Program. Ramp will even deliver a copy to your vendors by email or mail, depending on your preference and e-consent verification,” Keating wrote. “If you spot an error after submission, you can easily make corrections directly in Ramp and resubmit—no extra portals or manual uploads required.”
Businesses on Ramp have their complete vendor payment history in one place. Ramp AI does the work to map general ledger categories, pre-fill vendor data, and calculate totals.
1099 filing is available for all Ramp customers, with simple, per-form pricing. IRS filing costs 65 cents per form, and state filing is included at no additional charge, Keating said. Vendors can receive their copies digitally at no cost while mailed delivery is available for $1.85 per form.
This launch is part of Ramp’s work to build AI for finance and increasingly automate manual processes.
