Top 60 accounting firm Mauldin & Jenkins will soon have an established presence in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Covington, and Houma in Louisiana, as well as in Houston, TX, after announcing a deal Thursday to merge with New Orleans-based LaPorte CPAs & Business Advisors, effective Dec. 1.
Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. Once the deal becomes final, Atlanta-based Mauldin & Jenkins will add 178 professionals, including 38 partners, and five office locations across the South Central U.S. The combined firm will operate under the Mauldin & Jenkins name.
Mauldin & Jenkins said the combination strengthens its ability to serve clients with intricate, multistate operations, offering an expanded suite of services and deeper technical capabilities. The firm noted that clients will benefit from specialized tax planning, assurance, and advisory solutions that are tailored to the unique economic landscapes of the region.

“This merger not only increases our reach into new dynamic markets; it is an enhancement of the expertise we bring to every client relationship,” Hanson Borders, managing partner of Mauldin & Jenkins, said in a statement. “LaPorte has a rich 80-year legacy of quality service, excellence, and commitment to its people and its clients, as well as a value system that aligns perfectly with ours. This means increased access to specialized knowledge in complex assurance, tax, and advisory matters, as well as a broader suite of comprehensive services to support all aspects of our clients’ business and personal financial goals in Louisiana and Texas.”
Founded in 1946, LaPorte’s shared culture, values, and commitment to excellence made the firm a natural fit, according to Mauldin & Jenkins.
Eric Bosch, president of LaPorte, who will join Mauldin & Jenkins as regional market leader, emphasized how the partnership will benefit clients.
“Joining Mauldin & Jenkins provides our clients with immediate access to national firm resources and greater depth of specialization, all while maintaining the personalized, local service they have always relied upon,” he said. “Our professionals will continue to work directly with the clients they serve, simply backed by the strength of a top 100 firm. This is a clear win for our clients and our people.”
Mauldin & Jenkins’ last M&A deal was last June when it merged in Greenville, S.C.-based CPA firm Bradshaw, Gordon & Clinkscales.
Last August it was announced that Mauldin & Jenkins had joined TIAG, the accounting division of TAG Alliances, one of the world’s largest multidisciplinary alliances of professional services firms.
