E-commerce software-as-a-service provider SHOPLINE, which is used by more than 600,000 merchants worldwide, announced Tuesday a new integration with Avalara to help merchants selling in the U.S. simplify sales tax calculation and filing.
With this integration, SHOPLINE merchants can seamlessly connect their existing Avalara account—or create one quickly if they don’t have one—and automate tax compliance directly within the SHOPLINE platform. This enhancement allows merchants to more accurately calculate sales tax in real time and manage tax filings across U.S. jurisdictions, helping them save time, reduce errors, and maintain compliance with local tax laws.

“As merchants scale their businesses across regions, managing tax compliance can become increasingly complex and burdensome,” Christopher Yang, co-president of Singapore-based SHOPLINE, said in a statement. “Our integration with Avalara eliminates the guesswork and manual processes by providing an easy, automated solution right within the SHOPLINE ecosystem. It’s part of our ongoing mission to empower merchants with the tools they need to grow globally with confidence.”
The Avalara integration is designed with merchant convenience and efficiency in mind, SHOPLINE says. Once connected, SHOPLINE will use Avalara’s tax engine to apply the appropriate tax rates based on the location of the customer and the nature of the product. Merchants can also access Avalara’s automated filing services to ensure more timely and accurate tax submissions to U.S. authorities.
“Tax compliance is a compulsory and complex requirement for merchants expanding into new markets,” said Meg Higgins, senior vice president of global partners at Avalara. “Through our integration with SHOPLINE, we’re delivering scalable, automated solutions that help businesses of all sizes meet their tax obligations faster, easier, and more reliably. Together, we’re enabling merchants to focus less on regulatory challenges and more on accelerating their growth in the U.S. market.”
