Career Highlights
This past year has been one of meaningful progress, growth, and impact. As the founder of Outlook Accounting & Taxes, I’ve led the firm through a major expansion—growing our team to over 30 professionals across the U.S. and internationally, a 3x increase from 2023! By improving internal processes and strengthening our client delivery model, we’ve nearly doubled our managed revenue. A key milestone has been laying the groundwork to open offices in Croatia and India, extending our reach globally and deepening our commitment to cross-border service and collaboration. A particularly meaningful project has been co-founding SimpliFlow, an AI-powered tool designed to ease the burden of tax preparation. Born out of real challenges – excessive time chasing documents and reconciling data –  this tool aims to return valuable time to tax professionals, allowing them to focus on client care and strategic initiatives. I was also honored to speak at the 2024 ACAP Conference in Las Vegas on international tax policy between the U.S. and Croatia (European Union). In line with that passion, I’m currently building a global tax platform for expats to simplify international compliance—starting with the EU in mid 2026. These efforts reflect my broader mission: to modernize the profession and create tools, systems, pathways that support both people and progress and hope to make international tax support more accessible to individuals navigating life between countries.

What are you doing to make a difference in the profession, your community, the world?
Beyond my firm, I’ve remained focused on creating impact both locally and globally. As President of the Chicago chapter of the Association of Croatian American Professionals (ACAP), I help lead efforts that promote cultural exchange, community involvement, and international policy advocacy—most recently supporting initiatives tied to a U.S.–Croatia tax treaty. I believe in investing in the future of the profession by supporting emerging professionals through mentorship, career guidance, and real-world perspective—helping them grow with clarity, confidence, and a sense of direction.

My broader mission includes creating opportunities that extend beyond my own businesses. Through new ventures and global partnerships, I aim to contribute to job creation both within my local community and across borders. With new offices being planned in Croatia and India, and platforms designed to support international taxpayers and professionals alike, my goal is to help build a more connected, inclusive, and forward-thinking profession—one that empowers others through access, opportunity, and innovation.

Current Professional Reading / Listening
One book that had a significant impact on me — both personally and professionally — was Grieve, Breathe, Receive by Steve Carter. While not a traditional business book, it offered valuable insights into navigating difficult seasons with presence, resilience, and grace. It reminded me that professional development isn’t just about technical skills or strategy, but also about emotional growth, self-awareness, and the ability to stay grounded through life’s inevitable challenges.  It taught me how to hold space for pain while still moving forward — a lesson every entrepreneur, especially in a demanding profession like accounting, inevitably needs. It gave me language for things I’d never processed and reminded me how important it is to lead with compassion, both for others and myself. Those lessons became especially meaningful to me during one of the most difficult seasons of my life, and they helped me return to my work with renewed clarity and compassion. Receiving this 40 under 40 recognition is incredibly meaningful, and I carry the lessons of that season – and the memory of Bastian, who was (and still is) a steady presence in my life – with the deepest of gratitudes. I share this honor with my beautiful wife, Alyssa, my amazing family and the entire staff at Outlook for putting up with my crazy goals!
