Seven of the 15 largest accounting firms in the U.S. are among Fortune magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work For” list for 2025, which was unveiled this week.
They include PwC, Plante Moran, Deloitte, EY, RSM US, KPMG, and, for the very first time, BDO USA.

“Our people are the foundation of our collective success. As a leadership team, we look to provide a culture of continuous growth and opportunity. In my view, this prestigious recognition ties directly with our recent decision to establish an employee stock ownership plan, where our professionals benefit from the success of the firm,” BDO USA CEO Wayne Berson said in a statement on April 2. “We are honored to be acknowledged as a workplace of choice where professionals can grow their careers.”
The data used for the annual ranking, which is collected by the website Great Place to Work, is based on survey responses from more than 1.3 million employees across the country. They were asked to provide feedback about their company’s culture by responding to 60 statements on a five-point scale and answering two open-ended questions. Great Place to Work then measured the difference in survey responses across “demographic groups and roles within each organization to assess both the quality and consistency of the employee experience.” Statements are weighted according to their relevance in describing the most important aspects of an equitable workplace.
The following seven accounting firms made Fortune’s top 100 for 2025. We’ve included where each firm was ranked, its ranking from last year, how many years the firm has made Fortune’s list, and a Fortune-provided quote from an employee at each firm about why they like working there.
20. PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC)
2024 ranking: 22
Years on list: 21
What employees are saying: “I have worked for many companies during my career and wished I had joined PwC much earlier. Once I joined and realized what a great place to work PwC is, I knew I would never want to leave. The company overall is fantastic based on a very good benefits package, time off, training opportunities, respect for individuals/teams’ well-being, and commitment to giving back. It can’t get much better than that!”
87% of employees say PwC is a great place to work.
21. Plante Moran
2024 ranking: 12
Years on list: 27
What employees are saying: “This company is very flexible in allowing people to chart their own path. Many of our partners have changed roles, teams, and focus areas throughout their careers at the firm, and they are generally very open to staff doing the same. I think this is a unique benefit, particularly in the accounting/finance world.”
95% of employees say Plante Moran is a great place to work.
27. Deloitte
2024 ranking: 13
Years on list: 26
What employees are saying: “The people, short and simple. Deloitte attracts and hires people with great skills and who will be part of a very large collaborative team. Our diversity drives great opportunities to learn about other cultures and people, and we are encouraged to be our true selves. I have had many opportunities to learn and grow in my technical field, on my path to leadership, and personally through connections I have made here. The matrixed leadership structure here provides everyone with the chance to be seen and make a difference. I plan to retire from Deloitte sometime far in the future!”
88% of employees say Deloitte is a great place to work.
52. Ernst & Young (EY)
2024 ranking: 64
Years on list: 27
What employees are saying: “Above all else, the genuine care that my mentors and direct supervisors have shown (and continue to demonstrate) me across my various responsibilities makes me feel valued and celebrated for who I am, supported when times are tough (either at work or at home), and confident that this is, and hopefully always will be, the best place I could ever consider working. Coupling this experience with an environment committed to teaming and collaborating and winning means that the day-to-day experience I have feeds my personal and professional purpose and inspires me to achieve a more selfless approach toward enabling a ‘greater good’ for the organization and its people.”
81% of employees say EY is a great place to work.
64. RSM US
2024 ranking: 44
Years on list: 5
What employees are saying: “Although I only started five months ago, everyone who I have interacted with in the company has gone above and beyond to be welcoming. The people of RSM are what makes it so special in my opinion; there is no such thing as a dumb question and managers are understanding that there is a learning curve to a lot of the work. Overall, I feel like the company is invested in me as a professional and as an individual and is an outstanding culture to be a part of.”
87% of employees say RSM US is a great place to work.
71. BDO USA
2024 ranking: Not ranked

What employees are saying: “The flexibility they provide to employees. They do not micromanage where the work gets done. When/where we work is our choice as long as we communicate with our teams and the work is completed and the deliverable is of quality and the clients are happy. I also enjoy the experiences the firm gives us to connect, whether its happy hours, social gatherings, or off-site trainings.”
88% of employees say BDO USA is a great place to work.
