The Indiana CPA Society is a statewide professional association representing nearly 6,000 current and aspiring CPAS and related professionals who are transforming business in Indiana. It serves the public interest as well as its members. The society functions as an advocate for the profession through education, public awareness, government relations and promotion of high ethical standards. Programs and services offered are designed to meet the needs that have been identified for its diverse membership.

Mission Statement
The society’s mission is to enhance the professional success of our members while respecting the public interest; to encourage and facilitate the adherence to high ethical and professional standards; to facilitate relationships that will benefit members; to promote a better understanding of services rendered by CPAs; and to represent the profession.
Has the Society experienced much growth?
The largest area of growth for the Society is through the High School Student membership initiative, which was launched in 2023. As part of their benefits, students receive invitations to special events — such as INCPAS Meet the Profession Night — and receive quarterly e-newsletters that show the many career paths in accounting, as well as college readiness tips and scholarships they can apply for.
After only two years, INCPAS already has 665 high school student members. This is due in large part to the Fall and Spring “CPA Week” career awareness program offered by the Society, in which INCPAS members present to high school classes throughout Indiana.
A general quote about the Society from leadership
The Indiana CPA Society has continued to grow and evolve to better serve its members. “Over the past five years, state societies have had to take a hard look at our business model. Continuing professional education—once 50% of our revenue—remains essential, but with widespread availability, we can no longer claim to be the only or best option,” said INCPAS President & CEO Courtney Kincaid, CAE. This has left not just a financial gap, but an even greater need to redefine the value we provide. At the same time, the profession faces intense competition in attracting top-tier talent. These converging challenges have compelled us to rethink how we serve our members. Rather than a setback, we saw this as an opportunity—to stay relevant, drive change, and strengthen our impact. As a result, we reimagined our programs.” “We’ve expanded our focus to accounting pipeline and workforce development, forging partnerships that allow us to tackle big-picture challenges more effectively, together.”
What are the top three objectives for the upcoming year?
Collaboration. Collaboration. Collaboration.
The challenges facing the profession—workforce development, talent attraction, and pipeline sustainability—aren’t unique to Indiana. Addressing them effectively requires partnerships that extend beyond state lines. INCPAS is committed to working alongside national organizations, fellow state societies, legislators, and the business community to drive meaningful change.
1. Strengthen Workforce Development & Talent Attraction
The profession is in a race for top-tier talent, facing competition from other professions. INCPAS is tackling this issue head-on through initiatives like ConnectIN, a pilot partnership with NABA Inc. aimed at increasing high school and college enrollment, improving graduation rates, expanding access to professional credentials, and fostering leadership and entrepreneurship within the accounting profession. This program leverages the strengths of both organizations to expand the talent pool and improve career pathways for underrepresented students. Additionally, the Society will continue engaging business leaders, educators, and policymakers to ensure the profession remains an attractive, viable career choice.
2. Expand Strategic Partnerships to Increase Value for Members
The days of CPA societies being the sole providers of professional development are gone; not only that, it’s ineffective. A post-COVID learning environment is one without geographic borders, where collaboration and connection become even more important ingredients. INCPAS is forging new partnerships with external organizations and fellow state CPA societies to enhance programming and create shared resources. Currently, INCPAS is collaborating through the Midwest Collaboration on virtual seminars and conferences—in the next year, the Society will begin exploring additional opportunities to create strong, virtual connections with like-minded practitioners who can provide real-world, real-time solutions to issues.
3. Advocate for a More Accessible CPA Pathway
Legislative engagement remains a priority for INCPAS. In addition to the INCPAS-introduced HB 1143—helping to create an additional pathway to CPA licensure—INCPAS continues its work with legislators and regulatory bodies to implement this change while ensuring Indiana remains aligned with national mobility standards. These advocacy efforts will also focus on long-term solutions for CPA pipeline sustainability, ensuring the profession remains competitive and accessible.
By leaning into collaboration, expanding partnerships, and driving workforce innovation, INCPAS is taking bold steps to support the profession and its future.
