State CPA Society News & Updates is a selection of recent announcements and initiatives by CPA associations in the United States and its territories.
The Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA) announced that registration is now open for several 2025 spring conferences.
The Employee Benefit Plans Conference will take place on April 28, and the Governmental Accounting and Auditing Conference will take place June 2-3. Both conferences will be held at TSCPA’s headquarters in the Nashville, Tennessee, area.
In addition to the in-person option, both conferences will also be offered virtually and on demand to accommodate more participants. Those who choose to attend live virtually or decide to purchase the on-demand package will receive the same high-quality continuing education content as participants attending in person.

The Wyoming Society of Certified Public Accountants (WYOCPA) has opened registration for the 2025 Governmental and Not-for-Profit Annual Update, which is taking place at The Office: Conference Room on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants (WSCPA) has nominated the following individuals for the 2025-2026 Board of Directors.
In accordance with Article VI of the bylaws, all nominees will be declared elected by the secretary at the annual meeting unless other nominations, supported by at least one percent of membership, are received by April 1, 2025. If a contest for one or more positions develops, an election for those positions will be held at the meeting. The 2025 Annual Meeting is scheduled to be held during the Membership Summit on June 12, in SeaTac.

The Ohio Society of CPAs (OSCPA) recently announced a new leadership team. The new leadership team will assist President & CEO Laura Hay, CPA, CAE in strategic efforts to address the national CPA shortage by growing Ohio’s talent pipeline, articulating the importance of a thriving CPA profession to the state’s success, and positioning CPAs as critical contributors to a vibrant and financially secure economy.
Promotions and additions include:
- Dr. Tiffany Crosby, PhD, CPA, CGMA, MBA, who has been with OSCPA for nine years and previously served as Chief Learning Officer, was promoted to Senior Vice President, where she’ll oversee culture and organizational development, thought leadership, workforce development and OSCPA’s B2B sales organization.
- Lori S. Brown, who previously served as OSCPA’s Director of Partnership Development, has been promoted to Vice President of Talent Pipeline and Advancement, and will oversee The Ohio CPA Foundation’s efforts to grow and develop the incoming CPA workforce pipeline and expand programming and educational partnerships around the state.
- Gregory M. Saul, Esq., CAE, is the Society’s new Vice President of Government Relations. Greg has been with OSCPA for 11 years as Director of Tax Policy and is a familiar name and face on Cap Square. He will be responsible for ensuring OSCPA’s legislative and regulatory efforts remain at the forefront of advocating for common-sense policies for the industry.
- Amber Epling-Skinner, an experienced strategic communicator who has most recently held senior leadership positions in the Office of the Columbus City Auditor and the Ohio House of Representatives, has joined the team as Vice President of External Affairs. Amber’s background in journalism will help the organization effectively tell its story to members, industry leaders, key stakeholders and the public, in addition to local and national media.
“I’m thrilled to announce the well-deserved promotions of Tiffany, Lori and Greg within our team. Their exceptional leadership, innovative contributions and passion for our work has been instrumental for our success and the continued strengthening of the CPA profession throughout Ohio,” Hay said.
