The National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP) is offering a job resource to help affected tax professionals who were among those recently let go by the IRS find new opportunities in the profession.

The “Looking for Positions” section on NATP’s website is a free platform for job seekers to post listings and for tax and accounting firms to connect with experienced candidates.

The layoffs at the IRS—which has been estimated at between 6,000 and 7,000 jobs cut—come amid broader efforts by the Trump administration to decrease the federal workforce, with many of the affected employees being recent hires.

“This reduction in staffing raises concerns about the potential impact on taxpayer services, response times, and the efficiency of tax administration, particularly during the critical tax filing season,” the NATP said in a statement on Wednesday.

By launching this job resource, the NATP said it’s trying to bridge the gap between displaced IRS workers and tax and accounting firms in need of skilled professionals.

“The sudden elimination of thousands of IRS positions has left many individuals with a tax background in search of new opportunities,” NATP CEO Scott Artman said in a statement on March 5. “As the trusted resource for tax professionals, NATP is committed to supporting those affected by connecting them with firms looking for skilled talent. Our goal is to strengthen the industry and ensure taxpayers continue to receive high-quality service.”

The “Looking for Positions” section is open to all tax preparers, whether they are NATP members or not. Tax firms can explore the directory to find experienced candidates, while job seekers can post their availability at no cost.
