Top 60 accounting firm Grassi has expanded its presence in Massachusetts by combining with Anstiss & Co., a CPA firm located in Chelmsford.
Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. Six partners and 50 professionals and staff will join Grassi from Anstiss & Co. and will operate under the Grassi brand. Anstiss & Co. Managing Partner Raymond Anstiss Jr. will remain the managing partner of the Chelmsford office and assume the new position of Grassi’s Boston market leader.
Founded in 1964 and a top 30 firm in Massachusetts, Anstiss & Co. provides accounting, tax, and consulting services to family owned businesses, nonprofits, and high-net-worth individuals.

Anstiss Jr. said joining forces with Grassi is an exciting next chapter for his team.
“Joining Grassi will enable us to deliver even greater value to our clients and provide our team members with opportunities for growth and development on a greater scale, all while preserving the strong relationships and personalized service that are the foundation of our firm,” he said.
New York City-based Grassi has one other Massachusetts office in the town of Needham, according to the firm’s website.
