Ignition Appoints Greg Strickland as Global President

Strickland will be based in San Francisco, CA, and will oversee all operational aspects of the business globally with the Ignition executive team reporting to him

Ignition, a revenue generation platform for accounting and professional services, has announced the appointment of Greg Strickland as its global president.

Strickland brings over 15 years of invaluable experience in the technology industry, having held prominent roles at global tech firms such as Box, Productboard and Periscope Data, alongside advisory positions with emerging startups like Loom, Preset, and Grain. His appointment signifies a strategic move to propel Ignition into its next phase of growth following almost tripling its revenue, addressing critical challenges faced by services businesses worldwide.

In his new role, Strickland will be based in San Francisco, CA, and will oversee all operational aspects of the business globally with the Ignition executive team reporting to him and partnering closely with CEO and Founder, Guy Pearson. His extensive background in scaling SaaS businesses aligns seamlessly with Ignition’s vision to revolutionize client engagement, billing, and payment processes for service-based businesses.

Reflecting on his decision to join Ignition, Strickland remarked, “Ignition is truly transforming how accounting and service businesses operate, particularly in addressing critical challenges such as accounts receivables and cash flow management.

“While everyone is talking about AI, the real need for every small business is AR. Cash flow is the lifeblood of every small-medium sized business and has downstream impacts on everything – ability to make payroll, pay vendors, invest in growth, pay mortgages just to name a few. By enabling professional services businesses to streamline their client engagement, billing and payments processes, Ignition empowers owners and partners to enhance efficiency and profitability so they can focus on driving growth and innovation. I am thrilled to lead Ignition towards even greater growth in the coming years.”

Guy Pearson, Ignition’s Founder and CEO said, “We are excited to have Greg join our business, as he brings great bench strength to the team at Ignition and helps set us up for scaling, particularly in the US. With a background helping do this at other great companies and advising some of those we admire greatly, Greg is the right fit for our business at this stage.”

With a customer base exceeding 7,000 globally, and over $6.6B in revenue generated for its customers to date, Ignition has already revolutionized how businesses manage their revenue and cash flow to operate more efficiently and profitably.

Since its inception in 2013, Ignition has garnered accolades for its innovative approach, supported by investors such as JMI Equity, Tiger Global, and EVP. Notably, the company has been recognized as one of Australia’s fastest-growing large established companies in the Australian Financial Review’s 2023 Fast 100 list, and as a 2024 Top New Product by Accounting Today in the US.

Greg Strickland’s appointment heralds a new chapter in Ignition’s journey, poised to elevate the company to unprecedented heights in the realm of revenue generation within the accounting and services sector.
