Forty-four Indiana CPA Society (INCPAS) member volunteers will participate in 71 in-person and on-demand high school presentations this week, reaching 31 high schools and nearly 1,800 high school students.

Forty-four Indiana CPA Society (INCPAS) member volunteers will participate in 71 in-person and on-demand high school presentations this week, reaching 31 high schools and nearly 1,800 high school students.

INCPAS volunteers will be sharing their personal experiences as a current or aspiring CPA, the best part of their jobs, and how their work impacts individuals, organizations and communities. The ultimate goal of these presentations is to highlight the wide-ranging opportunities that accompany a CPA license.

“As CPAs, we are more than well-positioned to provide meaningful mentorship to accounting students seeking guidance,” said Jose Castro, CPA, manager at Protiviti. “We have a story to share. Our academic background and professional experience, regardless of how limited it may seem to us, could mean everything to a student who has never been exposed to our world.”
Since starting the CPA Week program in Fall 2020, INCPAS volunteers have reached more than 4,600 high school students throughout Indiana. This is part of a larger career awareness effort in which several state CPA societies participate, sending members into their own communities to help share the CPA story with more students throughout the U.S.

Indiana high schools interested in participating can go to incpas.org/CPAWeek to find on-demand videos or submit their interest in participating in the Spring 2023 CPA Week from May 1-5, 2023.
