Opportune LLP Welcomes Randy L. Hill As Partner To Lead Firm’s Dallas Office

Opportune LLP, a leading global energy business advisory firm, recently announced that Randy L. Hill has joined the firm as a Partner to lead its Dallas office. Mr. Hill brings over 37 years of experience advising Fortune 500 energy, chemical, transportation, and other commercial entities. Mr. Hill will focus on growing the existing Dallas advisory practice across multiple industries with an emphasis on serving client needs principally focused on corporate governance matters, M&A transaction evaluation and due diligence, financial statement analyses, complex accounting matters involving GAAP and PCAOB standards, and SEC registration statement and capital markets services.

Mr. Hill holds a BBA in Accounting from Texas A&M University. He has been a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Texas Society of CPAs and currently is a CPA in the State of Texas.

Brown Rudnick Expands Tax Group with Addition of Partner Barbara Klepper

Brown Rudnick LLP, an international law firm recently announced the addition of Barbara Klepper as a Partner in the Tax Practice Group, within the Corporate and Capital Markets Department. 

Klepper joins from McAfee & Taft where she was a shareholder in the Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation group. Klepper has worked across a variety of industries, including energy, food, healthcare, private equity, and technology, and represents both owners and entities in negotiating terms of complex transactions. She also assists charitable organizations and private foundations in handling regulatory requirements necessary to maintain tax-exempt status. She has represented clients before the U.S. Department of Labor and the IRS on benefits and tax matters. 

Kristin High Joins FICPA as its New Chief Financial Officer

The Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA) is proud to welcome Kristin High as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

In a 20-year career, High has served as a Principal at KKR & Co., a Controller (and previously an Accounting Manager) at CNL Financial Group, an Assistant Controller at GE Capital, and an Audit Senior at Ernst & Young and Arthur Andersen. She comes to the FICPA after most recently working with CFO Strategic Partners. She received both her bachelor’s degree in accounting and MBA from the University of Central Florida.

BKD hires enterprise risk solutions market leader in New York

Angela Morelock, managing partner of BKD National Enterprise Risk Solutions Practice, recently announced the addition of Joseph Zarkowski as a managing director in BKD’s New York office.

Zarkowski is an experienced leader in risk advisory and public company auditing services. He has more than 20 years of experience leading national-level practices and serving as the partner-in-charge for advisory and SEC audit practices at multiple accounting firms.

Zarkowski is a graduate of William Paterson University, Wayne, New Jersey, with a B.A. degree in accounting. In addition, his professional affiliations include the American Institute of CPAs, New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants and The Institute of Internal Auditors.
