Staff from accounting firm Armanino LLP recently completed “virtual volunteer” community service projects for nonprofit organizations and raised nearly $25,000 for COVID-19 relief grants for essential workers during its 12th annual Great Give campaign. Armanino is one of the 25 largest accounting and business consulting firms in the United States.

For the first time, the 2020 event was managed entirely remotely, with volunteers helping organizations with projects from home.  The Armanino Foundation also received donations through the #HatsOff movement to acquire much-needed personal protection equipment for health care workers.

The Great Give is a firm-wide event that has grown steadily over the years since first launching in 2009. It is a community service initiative of the Armanino Foundation that, along with the Dollars for Doers and Volunteer Vacation programs, supports nonprofit organizations across the country and around the world. Since its founding, the Armanino Foundation has also donated more than $725,000 to a variety of charities in the firm’s communities and beyond.

“The Armanino Foundation took an innovative approach in coordinating with a variety of charities to ensure that the firm could host the Great Give remotely and our people could volunteer their time and talents to worthy community causes,” said Matt Armanino, CEO of Armanino LLP. “Our employees went above and beyond this year and got into the spirit of helping out in difficult times both through virtual volunteering and donations.”

Through the company’s “Virtual Volunteer” campaign, employees from around the country volunteered for 10 Great Give projects and organizations such as:

Virtual Auction and #HatsOff

The firm’s partners and employees also participated in a “Virtual Auction,” where funds were raised for the Armanino Foundation’s COVID-19 relief grants to healthcare nonprofit organizations that procure much-needed personal protection equipment for essential frontline workers.  The Foundation also received proceeds raised through the #HatsOff movement, which encourages people to tip their hat to brave essential workers and donate to the relief fund.
