Joshua D. Lance, CPA, CGMA is the Managing Director of Lance CPA Group, a CPA firm he started from the ground up four years ago based in Chicago, Illinois. Josh is responsible for the overall operations of the firm and management of the team of ten employees. Lance CPA Group specializes in working with tech companies and craft breweries providing outsourced accounting, tax, and consulting services. In addition to leading Lance CPA Group, Josh is a co-founder of Communale, a craft brewery community, and Trackstar, a client workflow application.
What are you doing to make a difference in the profession, your community, the world?
In addition to the work in his firm, Josh is also an adjunct professor at Northwestern University teaching accounting and entrepreneurship in the Farley Center for Entrepreneurship. The class that Josh co-teaches is designed for undergraduate students to learn about accounting to apply to their future entrepreneurial efforts. Josh is also the co-founder of Socially Beneficial Investments LLC, a company that helps provide housing and real estate to immigrants with partnerships with nonprofits to lead participants to home ownership.

What do you see yourself doing professionally in 10 years?
I see myself continuing to grow and scale my CPA practice and provide leadership in the CPA profession through teaching and speaking and provide leadership in the industries we focus on.
