Career Highlights

In addition to Lance’s dedication and commitment to his clients, Lance is very active in his community, frequently delivering presentations to organizations or volunteering his time at local charities that in turn, make an impact in his community. This past summer, Lance has presented to the Russian American Bar Association and the Fort Lauderdale Tax Council, just to name a few of the organizations where he has been featured as a keynote speaker. Professionally, Lance has risen up the ranks at RSM, serving as the trusted advisor to high net-worth clients and small businesses. Lance knows how to connect with prospects and clients, and has helped his firm win large engagements in the private client services industry.

What are you doing to make a difference in the profession, your community, the world?

Lance is very active in several charities in his community. As a board member at the Jewish Federation, Lance educates others about the organization’s mission and values, and the importance for the Broward community to rally behind such an exemplary organization. Within the profession, Lance is on the Young CPA (YCPA) committee of the FICPA, and is working with the organization in hosting events for YCPAs. Lance wants other CPA’s to learn how to network with other business leaders, but more importantly, gain an understanding of our responsibility to give back to the community we do business in. We frequently overlook how fortunate we are, and sometimes it is important to stop and remember that we are in positions where we can make significant impacts to those around us.

Favorite books/websites/speakers:

  • “How to Win Friends and Influence People,” by Dale Carnegie.
  • www.bloomberg.com for financial news and updates
  • Favorite Speaker: Eric Thomas

What do you see yourself doing professionally in 10 years? In 10 years, I see myself as a Tax Partner and continuing to provide income and estate tax planning services to high net-worth individuals, small businesses, and families. I want to be seen as one of the most respected CPAs in my community.

What accounting conferences do you normally attend? I attend my firm’s yearly tax conference. I also attend local seminars on topics pertaining to my practice (income and estate tax planning for high net-worth). These seminars are hosted by reputable organizations, such as Bessemer Trust, Holland and Knight, etc.

What websites/magazines do you use to keep up on news of the accounting profession? Journal of Accountancy is excellent. I subscribe to the magazine and frequently visit their website. I also receive the FICPA and the AICPA magazines/newsletters. CPA Practice Advisor is great for keeping up with what is going on in our industry and learning about practice management.
